Hi everyone. I used to be a regular here and knew all there was to know about Disney trip planning. Haven't been since 2010 - and I'm dying to go. It seems like the resorts have gone way way up in price. So, I've been researching offsite, and believe me that word would have NEVER come out of my mouth before now. "offsite" - BLECH!

But I found The Polynesian Isle Resort in Kissimmee and I wondered if anyone has tried it. You can get a 1 bedroom for $67.00 a night on priceline.

Any other tips on the most affordable way to stay - I'm open. I need re-education.

I'm hoping someone has tried this place - it looks great !

We have stayed here 3 or 4 times and will be staying again this Dec. We love it, its our favorite off-site place to stay. Affordable, clean, well maintained and quiet. You don't have daily maid service, just weekly, but that's normal for condos.

We are staying here in Novemeber!!
Any advice?
How long does it take to get to the parks?
Is traffic horrible?
Do you buy groceries?
This is our first time staying offsite and our 3rd Disney trip.

This is our favorite condo. Traffic is great, and the grounds are beautiful.

It's been a long time since we stayed there, but it was lovely. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. It also gets a good rating on TUG2.net, the timeshare users group (7.92) which to me is a positive too.

The street the resort is on isn't a major street so traffic isn't bad at all. Once you do get on the main streets I haven't found traffic to be horrible. The drive to the parks is 15 minutes give or take.

We usually eat breakfast at the condo. There is a super Walmart close by. As you leave through the resort gate turn right and maybe a mile later Walmart will be on your right.

As far as advice goes...... You might get directions from Resort to Parks that tell you to turn right out of the gates and then make a left on the main drag that runs by the Walmart. Its actually easier and faster to make a left out of the resort gate and then make a right on Irlo Bronson Blvd. (Hwy 192). After you cross under I-4 just follow the signs to which ever park you are going to.
Also if you are just looking for a place to eat that's outside the park, that stretch of Irlo Bronson is loaded with places, from fast food to buffets to regular sit down places.
Make sure you call a week before you arrive to make any request , ie,. ground floor, etc.

This is our favorite off-property place and I and my extended family will be staying there in December.

If you have any other specific questions feel free to ask or PM me. If not, then have a great trip!

I thought they were all ground level. I'll have to check on that! Thanks! Maybe I'll ask to be close to the pool.
I'll keep in mind your directions too!

Thanks, everyone!

Nope, all the building are 2 or 3 story and no elevators.
Forgot to mention, if you are planning on doing laundry, every 2 units share a washer/dryer.
The gate is manned 24 hrs a day.
They don't supply enough supplies for coffee every morning so bring your own and the coffee makers used the round style (not the cone style) filters and are 10-12 cup.
There is not daily maid service.
They should provide you with a list of how the unit is equipped. I suggest you take a few minutes when you arrive to take a quick inventory just incase something is missing, that way you and report it then rather than have to protest a charge for missing items later.
We have never had any problems and all the staff has been friendly and helpful.

Want to echo what others have said. We had a GREAT stay in February-March 2013. I would recommend staying there with no hesitation! Our kids went nuts walking in because the table was set so beautifully...."mom, it's soooo fancy!" Have a wonderful stay!
