We had a great 2 week stay at Moorea but were surprised by a loud noise seemingly coming from electrical equipment outside the building at the far end near the TTC ferry dock. The noise was 24/7 and loud enough that we needed to keep our slider closed. Anyone know what it was and whether it is still ongoing?

I can't speak as a guest in Moorea but I regularly run and walk the Poly grounds when there and I've consistently noticed a rather loud electrical/mechanical noise coming from whatever mechanical room is in the area in red below. I swear it has gotten louder over time and have often assumed something was maybe wrong in there, but seems not. I've never seen anyone post about it so YMMV in terms of it being bothersome.

There is also mechanical equipment at the TTC boat dock just on the other side of the treeline (to the right in the photo below), it's possible you may have been hearing something over there as well, I'm guessing.

Thanks but the source of the noise we heard doesn't show on your photo. The source was/is located immediately and visibly to the right of the walkway just opposite the far right side entrance.
