I read a thread a few weeks ago saying about how the WDW has been reducing the concierge lounge food/beverage offerings throughout all of the resorts. Has anybody who has stayed at The Polynesian (or anywhere else, actually!) concierge recently noticed "lighter" offerings?

Thanks!

I was there a couple of weeks ago for a week. The offerings were plentiful. Not exactly the same things as last year but as many things and in fact more at lunch - previously they only had a few things out snack wise over noon and on this trip they had chips and salsa one day, popcorn another, something else another.

It was certainly not slim pickings in the evenings.

I agree with Liz. We were there in May and our last concierge stay before that was last fall, Spring of 04, fall of 03. Evening appetizers were the same on our trips but the desserts were different this trip...even more varied.

Don't worry...it's wonderful. Have a great time! :cool1:

Just got back this morning. They had out a lot more than I thought there would be. DSs loved the popcorn, it had a cheese flavoring, similar to SmartFood.

The hot dishes at night were great. We only were at the concierge lounge for 2 nights, the other nights we were out at the parks. Chef Dick's ribs were the best I ever had. I only had 1 rib because we had dinner plans. Another night he had chicken lo mein. Again, we had dinner plans so I literally only had a bite of it, but it tasted great. Last night there was a woman chef, and she put out mac and cheese, and grilled chicken strips. We didn't try them because we had an early dinner reservation.

I took pictures of a lot of the food offerings. Should be getting them online in a day or two.

P.S. We also stayed at the Wilderness Lodge concierge last week, they had out hot dishes in the evenings too, along with cheese and crackers, veggies and dip, hot chili, potato cheese soup, etc. Everything was very good.

Welcome Home SeaSpray!!

I'm glad you had a wonderful trip, thanks for the information. I can't wait to hear more about it. :flower:
