Polynesian Ceremonial - Construction?

Does anyone know if the construction of the Ceremonial House is still going on??? We are planning a visit in May, and I heard on these boards that it looks pretty "beat up"in the lobby.

Also, does anyone have the e-mail address for Poly concierge? It was on Tikiman's website, but that's down until 4/4.

I have been getting updates from the Polynesian on the progress of the lobby waterfall construction along with pictures of the landscaping and they finished the work on the pumps and pluming of the waterfall. Now they are relandscaping the waterfall. Here are the last few reports.

March 15, 2002 report:

THE WATERFALL IS WORKING!!!!!!!!! YEAH!

They turned it on at 6:15am this morning. I also saw the landscapers
looking at it so the foliage will start to be replaced soon. Right now
it looks like a big rock mountain. It's very pretty looking even
without the trees on top and the other foliage.


March 19, 2002 report:

I saw one of the landscapers and she stated that the large trees are
being removed due to their size. There will be some smaller trees etc.
planted but the big trees won't be replaced. Hopefully all the
landscaping in the atrium should be done before Easter.



March 26, 2002 report:

Have your camera ready when you visit! The atrium is almost completed.
There are small trees on the top now and a lot of other plants.
They're still working on it, but it looks great.

Tikiman... you're the greatest. I'm relieved to hear the fountain project is going well. Thanks also for the concierge e-mail. I've been holding off my requests for the 50th anniversary celebration ressies due to the fact that May hours aren't posted yet (sigh), but the clock's still ticking and I need to get going and hope for the best. Good luck with your website. I've gotten so much great information and will be returning on 4/4/02 when it's up and running again
