Polynesian Bus Transportation?

Can anyone give me some info on the bus transportation at the Poly? I have read on a few other sites about long waits in the sun with no shade. While my trip will be in December, I still don't want to be waiting forever for a bus. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. This will be our first stay at the Poly and I am really looking forward to staying there!!

2nd question. Is there any way to get from the Poly to the Boardwalk for dinner without going through EPCOT? The only thing I can think of is going to the TTC hoping on a bus to the Boardwalk and then taking the bus back to the TTC? Any help?

I stayed at the Poly this past December and had no problems with the bus transportation. BTW, you only need buses to go to MGM, AK, and DTD. For Epcot you should walk to the TTC and take the Epcot monorail. I heard rumors they were building a new bus depot at Poly which should provide shade while you wait.

I think your plan for going to the boardwalk is the best. Walking to TTC is not hard, especially if you're staying on that side of the GCH. We stayed in Tokelau and it took us about the same time to walk to TTC as it did to walk to the monorail platform at the GCH.

When we stayed at the Poly in May, when we checked in we saw many people waiting for busses. So we never went to the Poly bus stop at all - just walked the couple minutes it took over to the TTC on the walkway and caught busses to everywhere from there....

There is a brand new bus stop at the Polynesian that provides shade and protection from the rain.

There are -NO- buses from the TTC to the Boardwalk. Your best bet is to take the Monorail to the MK, and catch the bus from there. Or, you could go to the Studios, and take the boat from there.
