Polynesian availability August- September?

Did anyone else notice that all Polynesian inventories emptied in one day for mid August through Mid September? I looked Tuesday and there were just a couple days booked. Yesterday morning all rooms, all categories including bungalows are all gone. Any idea why?

I'd guess it has to do with the soft goods refurb scheduled for this year.

Well, for the first time we were able to get 9 nights at beach club at 7 month window so I guess I will be happy for that. DH upset his poly is gone though.

What dates are people looking at? I have a stay with an August 10 check-in booked, and I’m starting to worry about either getting moved or living in a major construction zone.

The block of dates that just appeared full at one time several days ago was Aug 15-Sep 17. The Bungalows are included In that group of dates and are still showing those dates as full , and nothing filled before Aug 15 or after Sep 17. So that is undoubtedly the block of dates at issue.

That does not mean all rooms will be closed off for that period and likely some were reserved for during that period before that large block-off occurred. Thus, I think it unlikely you would be moved to a different resort for an Aug 10 arrival but by the 15th, there may be a number of the floors in the buildings closed off.

Thanks. Who knows, maybe I'll get lucky and catch them in between the regular resort reno and the DVC reno. Construction doesn't bother me too much. I'd love for more aspects of the resort to be functional at that point (monorail station, 'Ohana, EPCOT monorail) but some of that could be wishful thinking I keep reminding myself that we like the Poly for the room layout, the pools, and the quick service, none of which should be majorly impacted 6 months from now.

You know what's going on at Poly correct? Not sure planned timelines so you might check the Poly thread for updates.

Be careful with Poly. It’s one of my home resorts but didn’t stay there this week because of no monorail. SO glad I hadn’t booked it. We visited snd it’s one big depressing mess. Yikes.

‘The ‘lobby’ if you want to call it that is now in the DVC longhouse Pago Pago. With the construction mess at main area and monorail down, no EPCOT monorail and no one there, it was actually depressing. And I love our Poly stays since the year it was built.

I do not plan on reserving this year at all unless I hear a construction end date and running Poly monorail AND running EPCOT monorail from TTC.

I suspect you may not see that for a good amount time. With social distancing it likely makes sense to have busses as opposed to the monorail to deal with the volume of guests.

I think the other part is they are using more trains for the MK loop. That is what it seemed like when we were at BLT.

So, until they allow more than what they are allowing in the cabins, I think Epcot route won’t be goinf
