Polyneisan rehab info

I know we would all be excited to "try out" the new rooms ASAP BUT This is your last chance to experience our "old familiar" poly too. I'm kinda torn between what I want, by next year the old rooms will be gone forever and I know I will miss the rantan bed over lay. :confused3 The large "day bed, or full table" by the window. I'm already nostalgic.

:bitelip: Does anyone know if the bathrooms are being re-done? I saw the pictures of the "new" CR bathrooms and the sinks are weird. seem to loose a lot of counter space to, wonder what is up with bathroom at Poly. :bitelip:

Anyway our odds in a week and half of getting a new room are probably nil anyway. :earboy2: So I will leave it up to the Tiki gods. :wizard: (backside of Tavula here I come) ;)

That's so weird!!! I was thinking the same thing! This Sept. will be my first trip to the Poly and I have never seen an "old" room. It would be nice to compare with a "new" room" on the next trip (if I'm lucky enough to get to stay at the Poly again!). I guess it's different with the people that stay there all the time and would love a new room, but I'll be happy to get a old room! Since I'd really like to stay at Tahiti if possible, I guess I won't have a choice anyway! :)

Steve, did I read correctly on your site that Raratonga is scheduled for rehab August to Sept.? That was one of our longhouse choices for Oct. because of it's monorail view. Just curious.

That was the last thing they told me as far as dates go. There is always Aotearoa for a monorail view.

I have a bit of information that is somewhat rehab related. We just returned on Saturday from the Polynesian and they are in the process of installing high speed internet access to all rooms. The service is offered for free through August 14th (while they work out the kinks) and will be a pay service starting August 15th.

Hey Steve,
Any chance Aotearoa will be renovated this year. I have a stay planed there in December and I originally heard it would be one of the first to be renovated, but now I hear no mention of it? I even picked a series of rooms that would be great to stay in so I would probably stay in that longhouse regardless unless of course it was being renovated at that time.

Aotearoa was supposed to be done this year but now is not scheduled. It made sense that they would since the test rooms were in there but at this point there is no info. I might be flying out this weekend to do some scouting and take some photos so maybe I can find out some more.

Tikiman, if you do get there, try to check out the test room door...the furthest West room. When we were there in May, that door had a Tiki mask on it although the other one still looked like the door on your web page.

Have fun if you go and we'll all look forward to your report. :cool1:

I will take a peek. After all that is the main reason I am going to to check things out since I think we decided we are going back to Maui next summer so I need to catch up on changes. Not that I won't have some fun while I am there also.

Aloha

Steve

I don't know some shack that smells like a Zoo but don't they all when you are not at the Polynesian? :rotfl: :rotfl:

I had reserved a room at the Polynesian but you can’t beat FREE at the AKL. Actually the AKL is my second favorite. I will just pool hop over to the Polynesian and leave my stuff on a lounge chair so I can shoot over to the MK for a while.

I am sure my friends at the Polynesian will let me into the concierge lounge to grab some goodies also.

I'll be making a ressie for the Poly for 2 GV rooms for my sister's family and mine. My sister is a huge YC fan and is apprehensive to stay at the Poly. Can someone suggest an area that that I should request that should really impress her and her kids? Thanks!!! :flower:

Steve,

If possible could you find out if the bathroom area's are being changed at all? Us girls are very interested in the powder rooms. princess: ::MinnieMo Kinda worried we might get the weird sink's in the CR's new pictures, with limited counter space. Hoping they don't change them. I love the dark green, and they did just change the shower heads. ;)

I am sure the bathrooms have chenged I just don't know what style they decided on so I hope I get to see the new room. If not I will just have to find something else to do when I am out there. I will still be checking out everything else that I can.

Aloha

Steve-do you know what is between the 2 closet areas? The fridge below? What's above where the opening is? Just a counter?

Any word on if the new daybeds are comfy for sleeping?
