Because of renovations at CBR, I can get POLY for only $20-$30 more per night the POR. Are there really that many more benefits at POLY? We really enjoy the food court at POR. Haven't been to POLY in 12 years -- is it still worth the extra$$

<p>"DUDE, GET THE POLY!" </P>
<p>If you enjoy Polynesian Styling and theme the Polynesian is a wonderful option and well worth the money.</p>
<P>Check out Tikiman's Page, sorry - don't have the link.</p>

I would grab it in a minute!! I'm beginning to think that wdw is offering to upgrade at such low prices to get us all addicted to the deluxe resorts!!! I have been perfectly happy at POR and will be just as happy next Aug at CBR. But, I'm sure that if I get to stay at the Polynesian, I'll never want to stay at a moderate again!!!

We had the same option and chose Poly. We were there last week and it was wonderful--the Monorail alone saved us so much time and aggravation. 'Ohana was good and we had breakfast every day at Kona Cafe (If you love good coffee, do not miss the 100% Kona Press Pot). The whole atmosphere is relaxing--beautiful landscaping, big rooms, friendly CMs. Would I pay full price to stay there? No way. But I am so glad we took advantage of this opportunity. It was our best Disney trip so far.

Have fun!

Dear hotmike, Did you have a code for the rate you were given for the Poly?? We love the Poly and can't believe you were offered a rate of only $20-$30 more than Port orleans. Please reply on how you got this rate. Please!!!!

The rate was only offered because we originally had CBR booked. CBR is now closed for refurbishment. Sorry...

We will be staying at the Poly soon because of the CBR rehab. Looking forward to it - have never stayed there before either - we 'jumped' on the chance when it was offered!! Just wondering where your room was located & what kind of view you had. Did it seem crowded at the resort?? Thanks for any more info that you would like to share!!!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

The way I look at it, you can stay at a moderate for the moderate price anytime, but you won't get a price like that at the Poly every year, at least not that good of a price.

It looks like you will be arriving at the 'Poly' the same day that we do. My husband graduated from NMU -- can you bring some
"Togo's" along with you?!?;)

Just got back Yesturday!!! we switched hotels to a marriott that last 2 nights, boy were we unhappy, the Polynesian is pure "magic". It put's you in the heart of things and can't be beat for transportation. we hopped over to the grand floridian one morning for breakfast, by "boat", that was the best!! seeing the magic kingdom fireworks from the poly beach or end of dock is unbeatable as is the electric night parade, just swam out of the pool onto the beach, watched, and got back into the pool, ahhh!!!
I will never stay anywhere else, especially if you have little ones like we do, you need the convenience! ask for FIGI, they just finished rehab and we got a view of the lagoon/marina for no extra charge (paid garden view). sun rises and could see all the beauty from the balcony! ps the food at the Kona Cafe was the best we ate for dinner the whole trip!! to die for desserts!

To K, P & J's Grandma: You made the right choice! I never felt "crowded" during our 8-day stay. We had 3907 in Tokelau--the view was overlooking the Quiet Pool, but far enough to the right that we never even heard a splash. Third floor with balcony, a non-smoking building. We have no kids and appreciated how quiet it was when we were in our room. I have hear complaints about tubs draining slowly, and ours was a bit slow, but not to the point where it caused a problem. Be careful--once I stepped on the drain plug without realizing it while taking a shower and then it really wouldn't drain!!) Tokelau is a good building because you can get to everything easily--Great Ceremonial House (lobby, dining, monorail station and shops are there), pools, arcade, Trans. & Ticket Center, and beach. Also, Rhonda from housekeeping is a gem. We watched Electric Water parade from the beach at the end of our building and it was not crowded at all.

I could not justify paying full price to stay there and will be happy to go back to a mod, but am SO glad we had this opportunity. Enjoy every minute!

Congrats on your anniversary! We went to the World last Jan. to celebrate our 25th. We had breakfast at the castle and they suprised us with to complementary wine glass with the castles name on them when we mentioned it was our anniversary. Nice to here from someone who knows what the U.P. is. COLD! Went from 69 degrees 2 days ago to frost warnings tonight and snow predictions, don't you just miss it? Oh yeah, you live in Minnesota, what was I thinking.
