Going April 19th for 4 nights. The first trip with hubby alone since the kids were born.
We will go to parks but low key.
Want to enjoy the resort and relax some as well.
With the construction, would you recommend the Poly still?

We are taking a similar trip in a few weeks. Just me and dh, kids are working adults now.
There is lots of availability for Poly, even to rent points for later in March, so I googled for photos. Wow! the whole front is a wreck.
We love it there but I haven't had a vacation in 1.5 years; I really just need to relax. I'd rather stay somewhere else that is relatively quiet.

I found it still very quiet in February.

Considering the fact that Disney World still has no fireworks, no meet and greets, many restaurants are still closed, park hours are shortened, there are no extra magic hours, and you have to wear a mask all day every single place you go- I think the Poly is a perfect choice right now. Everything else is compromised, so if your resort doesn't have its best restaurant open, the splash and play area is closed, trader sam's is closed, and the front looks like a construction pit.... oh well. Honestly the views of the lake are still beautiful and you have plenty of great options for transportation around the monorail loop. But in terms of "value for your vacation dollar"? Disney is not offering value right now.

IMHO, not worth it at all. Between no monorail, and no Ohana, I would never choose to spend $$$ there right now.

It depends on price. My husband and I were able to spend 2 nights there in November for $500 total. For us, it was for sure worth the discounted price. We didn't do the parks and just relaxed around the hotel & Disney Springs. We did the DVC tour of the bungalow and since I have an AP, I went to MK to get a cupcake one morning. The construction didn't impact us much. There was only one time we could hear it while at the quiet pool and it was when we were leaving anyways. We were in Tokelau and couldn't hear construction from our room.

Unless it were (very) deeply discounted, it wouldn't be worth it for me. I love the Poly, but I expect a lot more than what they are currently offering for $700+ a night.

We stayed at the Poly for what seems like every construction phase they've had in recent years. Always worth it to us. They don't want anyone in the Ceremonial House right now anyways. If you would skip O'Hana as a place to dine, it wouldn't matter. Depends on what you're willing to compromise.

FWIW, DH and I got a very good deal at the Poly in November 2020. The weather was great, the room was great (lakeview studio), and we loved the boat ride from TTC. The walk from our studio to the TTC was about 4 minutes or less.

The gift shops were open, Kona cafe, and quick service. When we went, the pool was open, but we didn't go in.

Would I stay here paying rack rate with limited amenities? NO. Like I said, we got a great deal ($580/3nights).

Thanks everyone! We rented points from a friend. So, at $340 a night we jumped at it.
This is our 1st trip w/o the kids since before they were born. Celebrating our 25th!
We stayed at Poly 10 years ago, after I won a sweepstakes. I can’t wait to go back!

I just saw the Poly while riding the monorail yesterday. No way would I choose to stay at that construction zone right now.
