I booked my stay at the WL for this Oct. It will be a 5 year Anniversary trip for my DH & I. We have no kids.

We really enjoyed the WL last year, but are also curious about the POLY. Is it worth the almost $400.00 more and risking a sure thing? We are booked in a woods view room now & we'd have a garden view if we went to the POLY.

What would you do?????

I am all for trying new places. I have been to both and they are very different. The garden views at the Polynesian will be very tropical and can have views of the monorail and parkinglot as well so request accordinggly. I had booked a garden view and requested the Fiji Longhouse. We had a room overlooking the Marina and could see into 'Ohana where the charcters were in the morning. Saw Mickey in the window while drinking my coffee. Also could see the volcano and Contemporary. The other side of Fiji has some lush lawn and foliage and then looks out over part of the beacha nd across to the Grand floridian. The rooms are much larger but the resort is more spread out. If you have visited the Polynesian and liked the atmosphere than you will probably enjoy your stay. If the extra $400 is going to stretch your budget and make you think about that money the whole time you are there, I would say don't change.

I LOVED the WL but we love trying a new resort each trip. I'd go with the Polynesian since you've never stayed there.

We love WL and are returning for our third stay in Sept. We have stayed at Poly but unless you really want a view of MK and other hotels, stick with WL. Also, WL has hot tubs, Poly does not.

We just stayed at the WL and loved it BUT if we had the money, we would have stayed at the Poly, especially if it was a special occasion like your anniversary. The main reason, for me, would be that the Poly has direct monorail service to both the MK and Epcot.

If you're only planning on going to each of those parks once or something, I'd stay at the WL. IMHO, it is the more beautiful of the two and it has Artist Point, which is a great 'adult' restaurant. (Although I guess you could take the monorail to the Contemporary for California Grill.)

Just spoke to my DH & he also reminded me that we get the water package for like $200 & it includes unlimited boating. So if we went to poly we'd have to forgo the water package. I'm not being cheap about money, ask my DH I'm a shopper, its just we weren't planning to go to WDW this year. But w/the new package & it being our 5 year anniversary, we couldn't resist!

You see we are gutting & enlarging out kitchen & master bath. The cost of the rennovation is almost exactly 1/3 the cost of the price we paid for our home, therefore, things are VERY TIGHT this year. But thanks for the info! WL is better than not going at all!

Also, There's always next year;)
