First off, let me say, I have NEVER been this indecisive ever. I need to finalize our plans as dining is coming up (November 5) and if we stay Club I want them to deal with it haha. Please help me confirm my decision.

We are 2 adults and 2 children (8 and 11 at travel). Our oldest has zero interest in sharing a bed with anyone. We have stayed AKL, BC and CBR. I am going alone next month for a weekend off to CSR. We are only considering deluxe for this upcoming trip as i have a fantastic pin code. We plan on spending more time at magic kingdom this trip (usually it's Epcot for us) and rely solely on wdw transportation. Our last two nights will be complimentary room at GF. We always have dining plan and make good use of it. Trip is May 4-11, 2017.

Poly is appealing because of a guaranteed daybed. We can only afford a standard view here and that's what we currently have booked. I don't like the idea of having to walk in all weather to the long houses, including back and forth for filling our mugs etc. The other con is the sinks not being separate from the bathroom (not a big deal, but the separation works better for us).

Wilderness lodge club ($200 cheaper than poly standard) I am drawn to as we won't need to order groceries, we do travel more relaxed and do make use of the resort at this point in our Disney trips. We like that the rooms are connected to the lobby. Downside to this one is the lack of tropical atmosphere. We are fortunate that we live near the Canadian muskokas and go many times a year and it's a landscape and feel we experience regularly. And the fact that the bed situation then is request only. We can request s bunkbed room, but are very aware it's just that, a request.

Both pools seem to be similar, just one having a volcano, one has a pool.

Other alternates we are open to, but haven't done any in depth looking into:

Contemp garden ($600-700) less than poly. Kids don't like lack of theming, mostly of the pool. I love the walk to MK, but that's really all.

Yacht club club level: but there's construction at the resort and we have no idea the effect of it. Kids do love storm along bay. We've only stayed bc. Any advice on the disruption? We live in Toronto and literally have a subway being built on our door step. It's loud, we feel them tunnelling below us, etc, so are really attempting to avoid construction! Haha. Again, I believe daybed is just a request.

Boardwalk inn garden :

Don't love rooms, kids would like pool. Not sure of bed situation?

Please help me. I am feeling overwhelmed at this point and need unbiased opinions. My family isn't helping me at all. Thank you HUGELY in advance!! added a poll for those who don't want to write a response, but genuinely would like to hear your reasons for choice if you have time!!!!

Admins: can I make this fun and mail a $10 Disney or Starbucks gift card to a randomy drawn poster from the responses posted until nov 2, 2017?? I'm grateful for any help. If that's not allowed, please delete this portion :)

If you are trying to avoid construction, you may want to avoid WL if this trip is for November of this year. They are adding VWL and have the playground, one of the pools, the campfire, some parts of the resort rooms and other things closed right now. We have not stayed at WL and were considering it, but I want to wait until all of that is cleaned up! YMMV.

Of everything you listed, I would personally go with Poly. I have daughters the same ages as yours, and they don't like to share a bed either! The bedding guarantee is a big stress reliever for me personally, which is why I usually choose villas such as AKL where there is a sleeper sofa and sleeper chair. It is a great proximity to MK, where you plan to spend a lot of time. Pool looks great, as does the tropical theme (we have not stayed there, but I would like to!). For me, Contemporary is good only for location, and not much else, so I agree with you there.

So I'm voting Poly and congrats on the PIN!!

I voted for Poly standard. Since MK is your main priority and you want separate beds for the kids, I'd stick with the Poly. WL CL is great (IMO), but as you said, bunk beds are only a request/not guaranteed (the resort is also under construction). As far as walking at the Poly, the resort isn't all that spread out and while it is sometimes a pain getting to the GCH & Captain Cooks when it's raining, I don't think it's really all that bad (just my opinion). Also, the Poly rooms are quite a bit larger than the other resorts (with the exception of CR), so they provide a little more space to spread out. With all of that said, I think you'll have a great trip no matter which resort you choose, but my choice would be the Poly for the tropical atmosphere, larger room, guaranteed daybed, and having the beach for watching the fireworks (just to name a few). Good luck :wizard:.

It sounds like the bed situation is the critical piece here. Your options with a guaranteed daybed are Contemporary (which is garden wing) and Poly Standard. Not all of the BW rooms have daybeds. You already know the situation at WL with the beds. At YC, daybed is a request as well.

If your kid is really going to be a handful without a guaranteed sleep surface, I think Poly has to be your choice. It's the only MK-area resort with the daybed guarantee. There really is no longhouse with a long walk for mug refill, FWIW.

Changed to add the dates. Oopsies. It's for May 2017!

Thanks for the responses so far!

Poly standard. Doing the DDP and club level is, IMO, way too much food and a waste of money. The Poly is amazing for travel time to MK.

I also believe that DDP and CL is too much food for my family. With the construction at WL and YC maybe a little uncertain, I personally would avoid those. My vote is the Poly based on location, accessibility to great restaurants on monorail, pool, and the biggie guaranteed daybed etc. :cool1:

Based on your criteria (MK focused, separate beds for your kids), I voted for Poly standard. It's not guaranteed, but I would request either the Rarotonga or Niue longhouse (just note, Niue is only 2 floors and the 2nd floor rooms don't have balconies. My DS and I stayed in Rarotonga, 3rd floor in a standard room a few years ago and the location is fantastic. They are the closest longhouses to the lobby and if it's raining, it's literally about 6 steps from the longhouse to the back area of the lobby. That will also put you pretty close to Capt. Cook's for your refillable mug. The longhouses are also pretty close to the path to the TTC as well, so very convenient to the EP monorail.

BWI is our favorite resort, but if this is a MK focused trip, staying at BWI or YC will be very inconvenient. I'm also not a big fan of CR, garden wing. It feels very remote from the tower building and feels very industrial to me. The CR pool leaves something to be desired as well - it's in real need of a total rehab.

Edited to add: I forgot to weigh in on WL. It's beautiful, but the rooms are small and who knows when the construction will be finished. Plus the transportation to MK is not as convenient as Poly.

Poly. Rooms are big and the daybed is great. Even thought the bathroom sink thing is not ideal, the extra space of the room overall more than makes up for it. Transportation from Poly is great, especially to Magic Kingdom--our route is monorail to the park, and boat back. And you can walk to TTC for a monorail to Epcot. Grounds are lovely. Food options are good. You can refill mugs at the Oasis pool as well as in the main building. Pool is great. View of fireworks is great. I could go on and on.

We often have an issue with the sharing of the beds too, but now I pack a camp mat so one kid can comfortably sleep on the floor.

We love the BW because of it's location! Fun nighttime activities and walking distance to other resorts. We

The Poly was our teens favorite, they loved the theme and the guaranteed day bed, a must for our kids as well. The Poly rooms are large and very spacious and the day bed is very comfortable.

We loved the Polynesian! My 2 teens didn't want to share a bed so the day bed was a big plus. (DS said is was comfortable, and he was a tall 16 at the time). We stayed in Aeotearoa, had a great "standard" view room and getting to Capt. Cooks was about a 2 min walk past the lagoon. We often sent one of the kids to get our refill drinks ;-) I voted Poly since I think it'll be the best option with your kids.

DH and I have said we WILL go back and stay club level at WL one of these days, when it's just the 2 of us!

My vote is for the Poly or the CR. I slightly favour the CR because you have everything (almost) undergone roof. If you are in the garden wing you are still just a few (covered) steps from the main building. The CR rooms are huge and have a guaranteed daybed (just like the Poly that way). You can walk from the CR to the MK. You can take the boat to WL and FW or the monorail to the POLY, GF and MK. You have the MK bus stop right there for direct busing to all other resorts for ADR's.

The Poly has nicer theming, but is much busier. You have a better chance of either a balcony or a patio at the Poly. The GV views at the CR garden wing are generally nicer, IMO, than the views from some standard view rooms at the Poly.

Both of these resorts have great access to the MK.

I would go where I feel the most attraction. Enjoy!!
