Poly vs. GF

I love the GF. It's such a fabulous resort. Some think it's a little stuffy, but I've never gotten that feeling. I've never stayed at the Poly, but I have gotten off the monorail and toured it a bit. It's a wonderful resort, as well.

The GF is quieter than the Poly.... there's not running water in the lobby, so a lot of noise is eliminated. Every evening, there was a band playing from the second floor down onto the lobby, which was fabulous. It can get a little noisy by the pool area (the one with the waterfall... the other is very quiet), but is overall very calm. It's also the shortest to MK on the the monorail, which is very handy. (However, it's also last back...) Everyone is really friendly.... didn't notice any real snooty people. It's fun to people watch in the evening because there are lovely families coming in formal dress to eat at Narcoosee's and Victoria and Albert's. The gift shops in the GF aren't nearly as large as those in the Poly... not as much resort gear (or, the resort gear is unreasonably priced), but you can always venture next door to buy merchandise.

The Poly might be a better option for families with small children just because noise doesn't seem like a big deal there. However, if you don't think you'd feel out of place in the GF, give it a try. I really recommend staying here at least once in a lifetime.
