Poly vs. GF DVC poll

It would definitely be the Poly for me. But I know the points to stay there will be too much for me to swallow. So we will continue our once a trip drink at the Poly bar with a walk around the resort.

the Polyn DVC will cost more than the GFV - which is the reason that BLT prices have risen....

love BLT - of course would probably love Polyn DVC too.

VGF does nothing for me. We stayed at GF once and it was my least favourite deluxe. We would probably stay at least once though to try it out.

I used to love the thought of a Poly DVC but since we've been to Aulani I don't think the Poly could live up to that.

No desire to own at either.

I'm not planning on any more points but GF would be my choice. I stayed there twice and loved it. Stayed at Poly once, really didn't care for it.

So after about 24 hour from my post, it looks the POLY has the lead. I am just curious if an announcement of POLY beach bungalows would slow GFV sales. I for one would wait, but fact says I have no cash for either at this time.

We're not in the market to buy any more points anywhere right now as the DVC prices have gotten out of control but since we like to resort hop and experience all of what DVC has to offer we would definitely attempt to STAY at both resorts. We have never stayed at either resort before but have been to the Poly to eat and found it a beautiful property. The pictures I've seen of the GF look a little too frilly & traditional for our tastes so I don't think we'd love it there. But since we LOVE Hawaii I am going to go out on a limb & say IF we were going to buy it would be at the Poly (but in reality why buy a Hawaii wannabe if we could afford to just buy at Aulani).

I have no desire to buy VGF or even to stay there. I will take a 1 BR at BLT over GF in a second. However, if Poly DVC does happen, we will be adding on points there...even if it's only enough to add 1 or 2 nights to each trip!

This would be our family as well. The Poly is our favorite resort and for sentimental reasons mostly. We would love to be able to own points here even if just enough for a short stay.

There is no option for neither. That's where I would fall. I bought my DVC based on points per night when I travel. Nothing can beat AKL. I don't want to own anything but that. I get three weeks a year there with my 270 points. So thanks but no thanks to both.

The poly has been and is always my favorite. We in the northeast have very little exposure to the pacific islands atmosphere. However, we do have places that look and feel like the grand floridian.

If I was really shopping for more pts at one or the other I would have to see a lot more information on both to make a decision. Pt charts for one, price per point another big factor, and obviously I would like to see the rooms layouts and any new amenities that the Poly would be adding.

As far as location both are comparable. It's nice the Poly is walking distance to the TTC, but the GF has 2 great pools and a kids splash area.

Lastly I would want to know which has more villas, and how many view categories. This would help me determine which would be easier to get a reservation at the 7mo window. If the VGF does indeed have a 'standard' view category as speculated, that could tip the scales in favor of the VGF.

Although we're not really considering either, I am closely following threads on both Who knows, maybe DH is looking for a good idea for Christmas/Anniversary/Birthday or all three (for several years haha). Hey, a girl can dream

If there was an announcement of Polynesian DVC, I don't think it would affect the GFV much at all.

People that love one, hardly ever love the other. If they do they will buy both.
