We were recently at POR for 5 nights and used the pool a lot since it was so hot. We don't usually use the pools much, since we usually travel in January. But I have a question. At POR our 3 year old son was allowed to use the slide as long as one of us was at the top of the slide with him and the other at the bottom to catch him and he had a life jacket on. I don't remember much about the slide at the volcano pool, when we were at the Poly last, but does anyone know if the same rule would apply or is the slide much bigger at the Poly?

My four year old niece did the slide with me at the bottom and not even right there - -more off to the side watching and her 6 year old brother is who took her to the top of the slide so I would think you would be fine.

We have stayed at both POR and the Poly. The slide at the Poly, is a bit bigger IMO. If you are with your kid, you shouldn't have a problem using the slide. The life guards really appreciate it when the parents are involved in watching the kids.

If the lifeguard is on his or her game, they do not let you stand right in front of it, just off to the side and away from the front of it. Should be no problem to catch him at the end. I didnt see any kids with life jackets on going down the slide that I remember, but I wasn't looking hard either.
