Poly TPV Club or BLT one bedroom villa?

This is my first post:) I have a family of 5 (the youngest of which is 12) booked for the Poly TPV Club level for 5 days and then Art of Animation Nemo room for 5 days. I've never stayed at the Poly or Club level. I recently checked and can book a one bedroom villa at BLT for 4 days which would be more economical and provide my family with more space. I'm just wondering if I should keep my Poly reservation or take the one bedroom villa at BLT?

I have a family of 5 also, and we stayed at the AoA in a Family Suite and loved it. You'll get extra room there, and the resort is a lot of fun.

We have mostly stayed club level on subsequent trips. The rooms at the CR, GF, and Poly are larger than the other resorts standard rooms, though a bit smaller overall than the Family Suite. We don't cook at all on vacation, so we didn't use the mini kitchen at the AoA, so the villas don't appeal to us quite as much as a club level stay. Here's what we love about club level:

Having the lounge available for breakfast in the mornings, Snacks, coffee, soft drinks, in the afternoon, hors d'oeuvres, beer, wine in the evening, and desserts cordials each night. It was wonderful to always have a cold drink available whenever you want it, and the afternoon chips and candy was a big hit with the kids. The lounge is a great place to hang out, too. It gives you some extra room to spread out.

We loved having turndown service every day. We go to the parks early, and then head back to swim and shower in the afternoon before heading back out for the evening. The room is clean and fresh again with towels and shampoo replenished when you are ready for bed. We love this pampering!

Since the villas are more like a condo than a hotel, it doesn't appeal to us as much as club level.

The Poly is an awesome resort, but having that extra bathroom, separate bedroom, and sleeper chair at BLT was wonderful! There's sooo much room and you can bring your own snacks. There's also the Community Hall where my kids loved to go for crafts and video games. They also loved the pool slide at BLT too. Plus being able to walk to and from MK is priceless!

Personally, we like the space of a one-bedroom over a standard room and never really get any value out of CL. That being said, TPV at Poly has an AMAZING view! I noticed in your post that you would be sacrificing a night if you go to BLT (you mention 4 nights instead of the 5 nights at Poly). If that's the case, I would stick to 5 nights at Poly. It's such a tough call. We really like the villas, but the Poly resort is much nicer than BLT/CR. I think Poly gets the edge on this one for me.

My other concern, I think you will be disappointed going from a deluxe resort to a value. Any chance you can change the order and stay at AoA first?

Being able to walk to MK (my favorite park) makes BLT the best in my opinion. We have done both and while Poly is beautiful, being able to walk "home" at the end of a long day is amazing!

My husband prefers the space of a one bedroom and wanted to at least end the vacation with a larger room as he finds it more relaxing. I tried switching the AoA room with the BLT villa but it wasn't available:( do you think it would be too much to do a triple stay? Two nights Poly, three nights BLT and 5 nights AoA?

I love split stays but I would do a single split and choose either BLT or the Poly CL. personally, I would do Poly CL for the same reasons that Alicein stated in her post. TPV, Poly CL is extremely nice. I wouldn't be able to pass that one up for a DVC stay.

Good luck choosing!

I wouldn't do a triple split. That's a lot of packing up and moving! I would pick either BLT or Poly. Have you looked into 1-bedrooms at AKV in lieu of AoA? They can sleep 5.

I was actually debating about staying at AKV. We've stayed at AKV one bedroom our last visit:) I found it very nice. We stayed at the Kidani resort, it was very quiet but I felt a bit secluded. Should I look into it again as opposed to AoA?

I would go with BLT for the extra space, especially since that is what your husband prefers.

What would you get out of staying on club level? Do you need a concierge to help you with reservations, booking airline tickets or a rental car? The "free food"? Bring your own snacks and drinks. You'll have a kitchen there. Don't have to worry about changing out of your PJs to grab some coffee. You can order room service and still come out ahead. You can get wine and beer in the gift shop and still save money on the one bedroom. Honestly, I've seen the club level value go down over the years and I'd be hard pressed to book a Disney club room again.

I have been grappling the issue for those exact reasons, but the thought of having a view of MK and the relaxed atmosphere of the resort has me torn. That's why I was asking if those factors out way the extra room at BLT? Am I just hyping up Poly in my mind or is it really worth it?

It's a tough choice, I know. I've never stayed at Poly so I can't say as a resort if it's better or worse. It'll be a first for me in December. Stayed a few times at Contempo/BLT so I'm going to put this tidbit out there for you, you can walk to MK in less than 10 minutes. :D. Also, you can get an awesome view of MK from BLT. Are you getting a lake view? Get a north facing room ending in 10 o 12. You can watch Wishes from your balcony every night. Bottom line, you're in Disney World. Can't go wrong with whatever choice you make.

I have a theme park view at the Poly. I have a lake view at BLT, does that mean I can see Wishes from there as well?

I would go with the one bedroom at bay lake tower!

1) You can walk to the MK which can be amazing
2) 2 bathrooms with a kitchen and living room
3) Washer and Dryer--we miss this most when we do a regular hotel room at disney

You can't go wrong with either choice, though I would prefer BLT for the space. My only suggestion would be to flip your reservation and stay at Art of Animation first before going to your second hotel. It'll be tough to give up either the Poly or BLT after staying there!

The options for the last end of the trip are either AoA, BWI, or YC? I picked AoA for the space but the Epcot resorts are amazing! Ideally I love having a split stay between the monorail resorts and the Epcot resorts. I hope I'm not making a mistake by picking AoA?

My only concern would be that you are going from a deluxe to a value. If all you're going to do is sleep there, not a big deal. Personally, I would want to end my vacation at a deluxe rather that the other way around. Have you explored the Swan or Dolphin? Many times they have cheaper rates than their neighbors, though with all of the extra fees they charge for like resort fees and parking fees, it usually ends up being close to what you would be paying for at Disney. Still might be worth exploring though.

We've stayed at the Dolphin and although my husband loves it there I found the rooms to be cramped with all of us. I looked into the BWI or YC instead of AoA suite. I've stayed at BWI before for a mother/daughter trip and we loved it! I've never stayed at YC but am wondering if the rooms are roomier?
