Poly- torches and music??

Someone on another site posted that Poly no longer lit torches at night, nor was there piped in music. Another posted said they were there in May and did not recall seeing or hearing either... say it isn't so!! Can anyone who has visted recently refute this? Thanks!

One of the things I loved about AKL was the music, and I can't wait to hear the music at Poly. That just does something for me...I really feel like it helps to make the trip relaxing!

I was just there July 4-14 and the torches were on every night and music everywhere.

And if you're around the Main Lobby at about 6:00 pm, watch out, there's a whole "Torch Lighting Ceremoney" which was a lot of fun. You will absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the Poly. I can't wait to go back.

Someone gave you some bad information. When we were there in June there were a few speakers out of commission around the quiet pool. Likewise, there were two torches that were yellow tagged and not operational. During our stay, however, the speakers were repaired (we reported the outage and the maintenance department had no clue they weren't working) almost immediately after we pointed it out. The torches were a different story--they remained tagged and inoperable throughout our 10 days.

good to hear that they still do all of this..i was begining to worry about that. Atmosphere is such a huge part of this resorts appeal IMHO...2 and a half days!
