Poly to MK with new bag check

Anyone care to share timing with the new procedures. What time did you hit security? How many people at "park opening"? What time were you at the tap stills? Anyone take the boats?

We check in on the 20th and can't wait to see this new way of doing things in person.

I was at GF and CR a few weeks ago so can't vouch for Poly, but my experience at both was likely very similar. If going by resort monorail, you go through security on the monorail platform. I never waited more than a minute or so even during 'peak' times, it was often no wait. Once you get to MK you just go straight to the tapstyles, it's SUPER easy.

Via boat, you go through security screening on the boat dock when you arrive at MK. Your wait will depend on how many people were on your boat and where you are in that order.

FWIW, we found the new MK security setup completely awesome - it really changed the flow of getting into the MK from the monorail resorts in a much improved way. Particularly in the AM's - the new MK opening procedure along with the new security setup make mornings so much less of a mad house.

I saw a complaint on Trip Advisor about people not staying at Poly heading there to go thru security and making the lines long. Of course I know not all reviews are legit.

First, how would anyone know who is staying at the Poly and who isn't? They don't give you a sign or anything
Second, anyone wanting to get on the monorail at the Poly has to go through security there. They don't have a choice.
So all in all, it may well be that whoever wrote that did encounter a long line but it's an utterly ridiculous complaint because would have no clue why the lines are long

If you read his complaint you will see he said he talked to several. He indicated they made their way there to avoid long lines elsewhere. For all I or anyone knows the guy never stayed at Poly in his life. I just posted what I'd read. At this point I don't care either way. I'm looking forward to my upcoming week there & hoping for short lines

So I am pretty sure I read the same review you read and that guy seems insane. He interrogated TEN families about why they were in the Poly security line and only one was actually staying at a monorail resort? I haven't heard any reports whatsoever of the lines at the monorail resorts getting super backed up--much less backed up to a point where an angry man could question why 10 families were in line without being noticed and subdued by Disney.

My word. Honestly, if some random stranger asked me that he wouldn't get an answer that would help him at all.
And as I said, staying at a resort is not a requirement to use the monorail. Plenty of guests will park at TTC, walk to Poly to eat and then use the monorail. And they've done nothing wrong to do so
