I was looking at "Our Laughing Place.com" and their query to insert to/from destinations to calculate time that it takes to travel from one location to another....really cool tool!!

BUT -- it calculated 45 minutes from poly to epcot by monorail!! That CAN'T be right! :sad2: Can someone help me understand why they've posted this to take this long?:confused3

Thanks!!!

If you take the resort monorail to the TTC and then change to the Epcot monorail, they're not far off.

5 minute wait for monorail
5 minutes of actual travel (moving) time on resort monorail
10-15 minutes of changing passengers at the stations or waiting on track before a station
5 minutes to walk from Resort Monorail platform to Epcot monorail platform
5 minutes waiting for Epcot monorail
8 minute ride to Epcot
3 minute walk to turnstyles

You should always allow 45 minutes from point to point using Disney transportation. It can, and often does, take less, but 45 minutes is a good benchmark.

You will need to get from the Poly to the TTC (either walk or take the monorail all the way around), take (and possibly wait for) the Epcot monorail, take the monorail from the TTC to Epcot, then get through security and walk to the entrance.

If you are in a longhouse near the TTC, it's always quicker to walk to the TTC and take the Epcot monorail. If you take the Poly monorail and transfer at the TTC, we have made it in 30 minutes before.

The one time I stayed at the Poly, I requested a room near the TTC, it was a short walk. You can also catch the express MK monorail or boat there. We were in the Oahu building, I'm not sure what it's called now but one side faces the quiet pool, the other side is going towards the TTC.

Even if you are not in a longhouse near the path to TTC, it's quicker to walk.
