Ok so I love the Poly and we eat here several times during our trips. Sushi is something my DH and I just started to eat about 8 months ago and now we LOVE it. There just isnt alot of talk on the boards about the sushi bar at the Poly.

Anyway what I have read and remember seeing is there isnt alot of seating in that area do you think in mid Sept we will have a good chance for two seats?

Secondly, we pretty much have our minds made up to go BUT is it me or is $13.95 for a roll pricey? We normally pay between $4.95 and $7.99 here at home.

Lastly we normally order a side of rice or noodles can you do this here? What about dessert?

If you have any pics or reviews I would absolutley LOVE to see them!

TIA!

While there isn't a lot of seating, I'd say there are 20 or so seats (6 at the counter of the sushi bar and about 14 along the windows). Our family of 3 has never had an issue getting seats. Typically we go at 5:30 or 6.

$13.95 isn't that bad all things considered.

That price is for the volcano roll or the shrimp tempura roll. With either you get 8 pieces and they aren't skimpy on the fish/shrimp.

The rolls at California Grill are $20+ and those at Tokyo Dining are $10-15.

Typically we get rolls for $8-$12 here at home so we always expect to pay a little more on vacation.

If you click on the link to my dining review in my signature you will see a review of the sushi bar :)

My family and I have been to the Kona Island Sushi bar multiple times and we enjoy their Sushi a lot, so I would highly recommend going there and one great thing is you don't need any ADR's. Now as for getting seats for two people if you want to sit at Sushi Bar and those seats are taken I would recommend waiting until other people have finished eating and sit down on their seats once they have left, which is something we have done before. However if you don't want to wait for those seats there are more available against the windows that face the Polynesian Resort Monorail station. Finally if guests want to they can also order off the Kona Cafe menu, so for those guests it would take them longer to finish eating and giving up their seats.
