Poly studio size

Since they are almost 100 sq ft more than some other studios, where is the extra square footage in the Poly studios?

We were going to a one bedroom or two studios for a 5 or 6 night stay but realized we could do 9 nights if we are in a Poly studio. Trouble is, we have three adults and our son would be 4. We were all comfortable for two nights in an SSR studio but wouldn't want to do a long stay there. I feel like the extra sink/shower at Poly would make it easier but is the living room also larger?

Most of that 'extra' space is hallway and the 2nd bath (sink and shower, only) It does have a queen bed, queen sofa bed and a junior murphy bed, a bit smaller than a normal twin. Very limited clothing storage, nice balcony but only room for 2 chairs and a small table.

How comfortable are the queen pull out sofas? Good enough for an adult? :)

The living room in a Poly studio is much wider than any of the other studios including the one at OKW (because of it's square shape) definitely more walk around space even when the pull out couch and murphy bed are open. But as many of the others stated much space is lost in the oversized main bath.

Agree that most of the extra space went into the bathrooms but the main room is also wider than other studios. It's a spacious living area compared to all others and there is room to easily walk around any pullouts when they are open.

We find the Poly studios to be far more spacious than other resorts. We stayed with two teens and were quite comfortable. The extra bathroom is a total game changer! We also loved having the extra pull-down bed. There is a lot of wasted space in the main bath and hallway, but the living area definitely feels bigger. We also store luggage in some of that “wasted space.” Love the Poly studios!

How tall are the adults? My sister and I stayed at the poly back in september and she slept on the pull down but she is about 5'3 and 140 lbs.

We stayed at the Poly for the first time Jan 14-18. When we walked in we missed the first bathroom and then wondered where that door led. We joked that it was big enough to set up a bed in there for our littles.

Seriously, we are traveling with our kidlet entourage for Thanksgiving week. Me and my husband, 2 adult girls, 1 teen boy and 2 little boys. We have 2 studios booked; 5 in 1 room and the 2 girls in the other. I am concerned about the 5 of us being too cramped in 1 room.

We did 5 nights in a studio with our 3 teens this past summer. We made it work but we didn't spend much time in the room. The kids lived out of their luggage because there isn't much drawer space. The split bathroom is nice. I would probably do it again for a short trip. If you're not going to be spending a lot of time in the room it could work. It was a split stay and I was happy to have the extra room when we transferred to a BCV one bedroom.

We had 5 in a Poly studio two summers ago. The extra space, as many others have said, is in the bathroom and long hallway. The main bathroom closer to the door, is very large and had a lot of wasted space, IMHO. The 2nd 1/2 bath with shower and sink was smaller. The bathroom setup was nice for having everyone get ready in the morning or after swimming. As many have stated there is a very minimum amount of storage space. There no dresser in the room but drawers under the bed, plus space in the coffee table. We had too much luggage and had to move it every night close to the door and kept some in the large bathroom. We really enjoyed our time there, but it was close quarters for 2 adults and 3 older teens. We would probably do it again at some point, because we really love the Poly. But when planning an upcoming trip for this summer, with older kids now, they wanted to pass this time. It's back to our home resort, OKW, for us, and we will visit and spend some time visiting the Poly. :)

We are a blended family so the older kids won't be sharing a room but I can see the littles moving between rooms. Typically while we are on vacation at WDW we don't spend a lot of time in the room. Luggage may be an issue if we all have a bag.

We picked the Poly because it did fit 5 and me and my husband have more adult trips than family trips. Traveling with our kidlet entourage is the exception not the norm.

Ahh yes luggage. We way over packed on our last trip but the weather was half warm/ half freezing your buns off and first time with a kid, so we came over prepared. We would significantly decrease luggage if we decide to stay here in one room. I would hate having to move stuff every day/night just to get around.

You can place two large suitcases under the bed. And I expect you can place three or more in front of the connecting door, it is not like you use that area, plus the bathroom excess space. Maybe sgtdisney was using the luggage for clothes storage that would cause lots of moving around of luggage.

Yes we kept much of our clothes in the suitcases. We drove down that year, and my wife tends to pack a lot when we're not flying/ Also, we had already been in Florida for 9 nights before we went to the Polynesian, so had done lots of shopping. So you can image with 5 people we had a bunch of stuff. I don't think the suitcases fit under the bed, the carry on type bags we put there. Aside from the suit cases I put the pillows from the couch up by the door so we'd have space to walk around when the pull out couch and Lilo/Stitch bed were set up for sleeping. We did use that alcove where the connecting door is for suitcase storage during the day, and filled it up with the suitcases. I think we may have had probably 6 suitcases and carry bags and computer bags. Don't get me wrong, we loved it there. If I had enough points that year we would have gotten 2 connecting rooms. We hadn't been back to the Poly to stay since our honeymoon many years back so we did enjoy our three nights there with the kids in tow this time. :) It was just a little "cozy" with 4 adult sized people and middle school aged kid. But we had fun, even when they shut the power down on our "down" day for a number of hours for some kind of repairs.

It sounds like you had a great time. Next trip who knows you might get connecting studios.

We had two large suitcases and a carryon. We put one of the large suitcases under the bed and the carry on. But the second suitcase was strictly for use for our week cruise following our stay at the Poly, so we left it by the connecting door. That purple suitcase was heavy and we didn't want to mess with it.

We typically don’t unpack so use our suitcases like dressers. I set up one at the connecting door and our other in the large bathroom. Helped not fill up the living room (we are 2 adults, 2 kids (10,5). Love the Poly Studios, especially the second bathroom and the size of the main room.

We stayed in a third floor Moorea room on our very first visit in 1997, long before it was converted to DVC studios. At that time the room was rather large and we had five of us in the room, Bill and I, our 4 yr old son and our two nieces (9 and 11). The room felt spacious and we had plenty of room for all the kids' stuff because the bathroom was long and narrow - tub/shower and toilet on one side, sink on the other. Now there is a tub room with sink and toilet, plus a shower room with sink, a kitchenette taking up all the extra space.
