Poly Studio or Riviera Studio

Can't decide between Poly Studio or Riviera Studio. 3 nights just hubby and me. Moving later in the week to BWV 2 bedroom when our adult children arrive. What should I choose.

PVB studios are scheduled for a soft goods refresh sometime later this year. So far, the starting date has not been announced. It's possible that you'll get a newly refreshed room when you stay if they start after Poly's hotel side reopens.

And you'll be close to the MK if you stay at PVB whereas RIV is a second Epcot/HS location.

But...there won't be many opportunities to stay at RIV once it sells out to DVC. So if it's on your bucket list, now would be the time to try it.

I agree with Poly to be in a different area of WDW.

I don't think Riviera will be necessarily more difficult to get into. Direct cash availability will slowly decrease but then rental opportunities will slowly increase as there are more owners and thus more people renting out points.

Both are great resorts with great food options. Poly's pools are better, imo, if that is at all important. You won't won't with either. We have a three part split at end of this month and Riviera and Poly are two of our three.

I do think it depends a lot on when the trip is. I'd be inclined to do Poly since you'll be an at Epcot area resort at BW, so it gives more variety. But since you'll be adults only maybe you'll want to spend more at Epcot, which leans toward Riviera. They are both incredible resorts--my two favorite resorts at WDW. Both have spacious studios with a split bath layout that is great for getting ready in the morning. And since you are just going to have two people in the room, the sofa bed vs murphy bed distinction is irrelevant.

Timing also matters. I wouldn't want to stay at PVB until they open up the resort more--Trader Sams/Tiki Terrace, O'hana, Oasis pool QS restaurant etc. And I definitely wouldn't want to stay during the monorail construction--I know you can get on the monorail from TTC, but the sights and sounds of construction at a resort really breaks the theme for me. I know with DVC most people are planning a year plus out so that may all be irrelevant, but I figure it's possible you have both options booked and are deciding which to drop, or are doing a cash reservation in the next few months, so didn't want to assume.

Yes, when are you going? Until the Polynesian resort refurb is done, I would pick Riviera. We booked 2 studios at Poly for a December trip, but the report side refurb should be done and hopefully the soft food will be too, fingers crossed. My husband and I love the skyliner and the World Showcase, so I’d be inclined to pick Riviera anyway since it drops you off right by the Showcase, but both are wonderful. We own at both, so clearly, we think they are great.
