Poly Room Request?

Rightnow, we have non-smoking, connecting rooms for Nov 17- 21. Should I request a certain building or location as well? Our group has a grandmother with a recent knee replacement ( no extra walking please), a pregnant mom, a grandfather, and a 4yr old. We also plan to come back every afternoon for napping, so we'd like it quiet if possible. Any suggestions. Thanks!!

There is a website by Tiki Man for all things Polynesian Resort!! He has great descriptions of all of the long houses. There are some buildings that are very close to the Grand Ceremonial House. I can't find the web site address right now (I am at work, sshhh) but I am sure someone else out there has it.

This time next week I will be at the Polynesian relaxing!! I can't wait.

We stayed a few weeks away at the Raratonga building and loved it! We walked right out our room and 10 steps later (maybe even less) were in the Great Ceremonial House where the monorail was.
If you are further to the East (I think) you will be pretty close to the TTC which is handy as well.
As a bonus the monorail was right out the window and our DD's loved watching it go by.

Building and room requests can not be guaranteed. Nevertheless, it is possible to make known your room (building preferences and special needs when rooms are reserved. CR will place your needs and requests on your reservation. They do make every effort to grant the requests. Best chances of getting exactly what you want are improved by arriving for check in just as soon in the day as possible. Remember, wheel chair rentals are available. A visit to Disney involves a great deal of walking.

The Grand Ceremonial House (Hall) or GCH has the focus and is the location for the monorail station. If extra walking is to be avoided, a building anywhere close to the GCH is the best choice.

Keep an eye out on the REHAB schedule. In Sept they were working on Niue. I think Rarotonga will be given some Rehab next.

Pool noise and Marina noise (during the day) might be a factor during the busy seasons for rooms in Fiji and Samoa. Our stay at Aotearoa was close to the GCH and it was quiet during the day. Luau drums do not start until the evening hours.

Tokelau is a good compromise for equal walking distance to the TTC as well as the GCH. Rapanui is best for access to the TTC which provides access to anywhere else. The Polynesian bus stop is in front of the resort laundry room and the Neverland Club (the TTC side of Rarotonga).

Remember too! Tikiman is correct when he tells us "there are no bad rooms at the Polynesian". We found all walking distances to be not only very short, but also incredibly beautiful. Often we would choose to hoof it to the TTC rather than get on the monorail at the GCH just to enjoy the beauty of the place. Maximum walk time to anywhere to anywhere is likely to be under 10 minutes at a snails pace or 5 min at a normal casual adult pace. Sure the buildings are separated, but not as far apart as it might seem from viewing the maps.

Connecting rooms can be very hard to get with the Poly being nearly booked this month, if this is your first priority you may have to settle for whatever longhouse they are available in. If you do get non-smoking, connecting rooms, near the Great Ceremonial House you're doing pretty darned good. Good luck and let us know how it turns out after your trip.
