Poly room request - Hawaii Bldg. Please Help...

Putting the last couple touches on our upcoming trip to Disney. We will be staying at the Poly - Hawaii Bldg., with lagoon view.

My quesiton, what's the best floor to request. I would like the best view of the castle and have a balcony. What are the best options:

First Floor - Is there a good view at ground level.

Second Floor - No Balcony?

Third Floor - Balcony, but smoking.

I'm at a loss for the "perfect floor", any comments are greatly appreciated. I'm traveling with wife and three kids.

First of all, you are going to love staying in the Hawaii building. When we stayed, we were on the 2nd floor. It was very convenient to the lounge and to be honest, we didn't miss having a balcony as the sliders opened up...you just couldn't sit on a balcony. I wouldn't have changed a thing with our room.

I am pretty sure I read somewhere that only 1/2 of the rooms on the 3rd floor are smoking since the refurb. This would be your best bet if you want a non-smoking balcony. The first floors have patios.

Hi We have never stayed there yet, plan on going May 04, but Tikiman stays on the first floor room 1505 I think. You can go to his website and check out what he has to say. http://www.tikiman2001.homestead.com/index.html Some rooms have trees blocking views and and he tells you that kind of stuff. Have fun!

As far as the second floor, are the sliders the same as regular sliding doors? Are they screened in ?

We stayed LV third floor(pre-renovation) and never smelled smoke. The view was absolutely amazing!

The sliding doors on all floors are the same. There are no screens. There are jus as many good views on all floors and every floor has partly blocked and clear views.

It seems that the upper floors are a bit more private
and you have a better view! Did you think the 3rd floor
(3505) was smoky? My kids and myself are very allergic
to smoke! Have you ever stayed on the 2nd Floor?
Seems that it would be much noisier, with people
above you and below you! Thanks for your web page...
It really gets my kids really excited!!! By the way, I see by your bio that you've stayed at the AKL concierge...Do you have any
favorite rooms there? We'll be splitting between Poly
and AKL concierge! Thanks again!

I stayed in a second floor in Tahiti and it was not noisy. THe 3rd floor room was not smokey at all but that does not guarantee the room you get will not be. They do a great job of de-smoking the rooms though.

I stayed on the 2nd floor in Hawaii building. I cant remeber exactly but it was something like room, 17XX. we were at the end of the corridor and our room had a lake few, the castle was smack dab in the middle of our room, straight ahead..no balcony was missed

There is no 17XX in Hawaii but if you were on the second floor facing the lagoon you would be in a room from 2501-2518 so maybe it was 2517 which would be the second from the last room away from the lounge facing the lagoon. That room does have a nice view. There are no palm trees on that end.

We had a very nice view of the castle from our 1st floor room in the Hawaii building. You could also see the Contemporary and the Grand Floridian. It really was a beautiful view. The room number was 1512.
