Ten year old DD and I will vacation with my Sister and BIL at WDW next February. At that time, sister's children will be almost 3 and 1. DD and I visit WDW at least once a year; sister traveled with us once before she had kids and we stayed at POR. We would like to stay at the same resort (separate rooms) so we can hang together at the pool, etc.

I'm trying to figure out the best option for all of us. Sister would like to have a kitchenette set up to deal with her kids' needs. So I thought WL Villas would be a good option for them. Unfortunately, DD and I don't particularly care for WL and we would really rather stay at Poly. Suites at Poly are out of the price range.

I think the Poly rooms are big enough that sister's family would be fine, but they wouldn't have the kitchenette. Am I being unfair to exclude WL just 'cuz we like Poly better? For those of you with little children, do you think you need the kitchenette, etc. that comes with the villa? DD is pushing Poly with the monorail and boat access, etc. and probably has her aunt convinced.

Any advice? Thanks

I think that the fact that the villa's have washers & dryers in each unit would sway me. Little kids are always needing a change. It would be so handy to throw a load into the washer in the morning before heading out then dry it upon your return.

I haven't been yet, but when faced with the choice we went the Poly route (our daughters are 2 and 4). A kitchenette is nice, but likely we wouldn't use it all that much because we wouldn't want to make a special trip back to the hotel for meals. What was more important for us was easy transportation and a good pool. Also, for the price we were comparing a Poly garden view with a studio at WLV. For us, the sleeping arrangements at the Poly were better than the villas. Two queen beds plus the day bed worked better than the 1 queen bed and sleeper sofa. Now if we had been comparing a one bedroom (with separate living area) to the Poly, we would have gone that route. But the studio to the Poly rooms, we chose the Poly.

Hopefully we made the right choice.

Good point about the sleeping arrangements for the studio. I hadn't thought that through. For the price, we'd be comparing the studio and Poly garden view.

Can you tell I really want to wind up at Poly? What sister doesn't know won't hurt her (it only hurts my conscience).
