Poly or WL

Hello! We just got our AP rate and are thinking of switching from the WL to the Poly bc it's only $300 more. We LOVE the WL, but the Poly is usually so much further out from our budget that we don't even consider it. We have some questions that I hope someone can help with.
* We liked the idea of bunk beds at the WL. Anyone know how large Poly rooms are in comparison? Will there be room for a crib (comfortably)
* Any pros or cons to each? We would have the standard view at the Poly and bunk bed courtyard view at the WL

I havent stayed at WL, but my understanding is the rooms are similar in size to AKL, where i have stayed... and the Poly had noticeably more room. We really love the poly and staying in our "standard" room last year made us fall in love with the place. We will be back this year with CL! If it is only $300 more for the whole trip, I would go Poly. I know construction is happening somewhat at both but it seems much more extensive at WL. Plus the monorail is so convenient... I would switch!

I would definitely switch from the WL to the Poly. The Poly is just finishing up massive construction that is just beginning at the WL. Also, the rooms are far larger than those at the WL with lots more room for a crib. The Poly has arguably the best transportation options in WDW, much better, IMO, than those at WL.

Both resorts are very nice, but the Poly is truly special! For only $300 extra, I wouldn't hesitate.

Enjoy!

I would go with the Polynesian as well. Being a monorail resort would be enough of a reason but you also have more food options as well and with the construction going on, I would definitely go Polynesian(with one minor exception). If you are going during the Christmas season then I might go with WL. I am still getting grief for not booking WL instead of POR last year(I was worried about construction but it didn't seem that bad at the time, we ate dinner at Whispering Canyon and loved the decorations and atmosphere).

We stayed at the Polynesian last year and the rooms definitely seem more spacious, the one thing I would recommend(having made this mistake), make sure you request a room with a balcony/patio. We got stuck on the second floor of Fiji facing the marina but didn't have a balcony.

I have stayed at both the Poly and WL. Loved both of them. I would choose Poly as well because of the monorail. (Our family always laments the fact that WL is not on the monorail, if only they could have swung that loop around a little more!) And bonus, you're next door to the TTC so it's just a quick walk over there and you have direct access to Epcot.

Yes, the Poly rooms feel more spacious to me, too. I think also because WL rooms are a little darker inside, they feel a little smaller.

We have stayed at both and we loved both of them. Poly definitely had a bigger room. We got one with two queens and a day bed. And a nice balcony. And with the construction at WL going on I would not choose to stay there now at all at least until things are closer to completion. This time we did AKL and my favorites now would be that or poly. For this trip for you I'd say Poly for sure.

I could stay at AKL every single time, alas I have a goal to try out every resort. When they say welcome home as we drive up to Jambo house I truly do feel like I am coming home.

Yep, that was our first time there and we felt that way for sure. We also try a different resort every time. Or at least that's what we've done so far. Next time I could see us doing AKL again!

We did AKL CL for a second time last summer simply because the price was so good versus other Deluxe resorts non-Club Level. This year I bit the bullet and did GF(Wife direly wanted to stay there). We did a one day at Poly before last years stay at AKL and I think my wife feels the same way about Poly as I do about AKL. Which is why I would say in a choice between WL and Poly, go with Poly, esp for the price difference.
