Poly or WL - It all boils down to which has the better pool and slide....

We stayed at the Poly last Christmas and loved the rooms (very quiet) and the kids thought the slide was great!

This year we are thinking about WL for Christmas (never been there). Bunk beds and the "Christmas feel" are huge pluses. I have read that the rooms are not very sound proof. I hate hearing neighbors and toilets flushing.

So like I said it all boils down to the pool and slide. Is the WL pool and slide as good as the Poly's?

My kids thought the AKL pool and slide was a little lame.

My vote would be WL the slides are simular with WL being bigger, longer or a little higher. (nothing like SAB or Keister)
Just the Lodge at Christmas would make my trip. I've stayed at WL many times and just don't remember any noise maybe toilets early in the morning, but not neighbors. (just lucky not sure) Poly's great so either would be wonderful but you have just stayed at Poly.;) ;) ;)

Have a GREAT TRIP

If you're looking at just the slides... I'd pick the volcano side at the Poly over the WL's. As for the rest of the pool, they're probably about even. The zero depth entry at the Poly is nice if you have small kids. Also, the "stream" theme of the WL pool is pretty cool.

But I second the Christmas themeing comments about WL. It'd be our pick in a heart beat.

I've stayed at both resorts 3 times, so I'll give you my take. The WL is AWESOME at Christmas, it really works with the theme of the hotel. The Poly is the worst IMO, and those Hawaiian Christmas songs they pipe in drove me BATTY!!! The WL pool is VERY close to the main building, helps with getting inside quickly when it's cold outside, and they have hot tubs, VERY important if it's cold out. With the Poly, you could be a 5 minute walk away, and that would be torture for me!!! The slide at the Poly is much faster and longer than the WL slide, but I prefer the setting of the WL pool to the Poly's. Overall, I prefer the WL to the Poly by a hair, mainly for the themeing of the resort.

I stayed at the WL in March and liked it. This Nov. I will be staying at the Poly with my 4 year old DD and 3 month old son. We are still trying to talk daddy into coming. Anyways, if the bunk beds is huge for you I don't think that you are guaranteed a room with them so you may want to consider if it is still worth it if you can not get a room with BB. We chose the Poly this time because of the pool- 0 depth entry which is great. I have not been to the Poly so I do not know how big the pool is but I thought that the WL pool was a bit small and crowded when I was there. Also I like that the Poly is on the monorail, although the boat service to MK was great from WL. Either way have a great time.

I've been to both and also did the slides. The WL slide was very small compared to the Poly slide and not nearly as fun. The Poly pool is much bigger, has zero clearance, and right next to the beach. You can sit at the tables or loungers and view your kids in the pool or on the beach. The beach is also much better at the Poly. At the Poly pool you can relax in the water and the smells from the various flowers is so nice! My DD, now 4, much prefers the Poly pool and in fact is all she talks about for our next trip to WDW. I vote Poly!

The slide at the Poly is a lot better than the one at the WL. However, we found the pool water to be much warmer at the WL than the Poly, and the Poly does not have a hot tub, so if it were up to me I'd pick the WL.

Thanks for all your opinions. I think we will stay at WL since we are going at Christmas and want the Christmas feel at WL. Also because we haven't stayed there yet.

Any other time of the year we would probably go back to Poly.
