Poly or Beach Club?

Just want to get some opinions on what to do.

We have the Poly booked with AAA rate. When AP rate came out, I called to get a rate change but there was none available at the Poly for our dates of travel. AP rate was available at the Beach Club.

Here's the dilemma. If we switch hotels and stay at the Beach Club, I would upgrade to a package and get the dining plan. The dining plan is worth it for my family of 5 and the money saved on the room would go towards that.

Downside is that we stayed at the BC last year and we were really looking forward to trying the Poly.

What would you do?

Personally I think the Polynesian is a better Resort then the Beach Club based on it's theme and atmosphere. However it sounds like the Beach Club would be best for your family, based on what you said.

Hands down the Poly :cool1: :cool1:. We've stayed at both the BC and the Poly, and it's the Poly for us all the way :dance3:. The BC is a very nice resort, but we really enjoyed watching the fireworks from the beach at the Poly, seeing the castle while swimming, taking naps in the hammocks on the beach.....the list goes on and on ;). Not to mention we LOVE Kona Cafe for dinner . If you've never stayed at the Poly before and were really looking forward to it, then I'd go for it. We kept saying "some day" for the Poly, and that "some day" was last September and now the Poly is our #1 choice resort :woohoo: :woohoo:. I say keep the Poly and don't look back :rolleyes1. But I'm sure you'll have a great trip no matter which resort you choose ;)

Hands down in this situation BC would be a better deal for us. I do love it there too. I guess I am just looking for reassurance that Poly would be worth the extra $$ this time. Thanks for your input.

Thanks for making me feel better. I have a feeling after this trip it is going to be our favorite too. I guess I'll just keep calling back and hoping that an AP room becomes available. CM said at this time, all monorail line AP rooms are gone.

You're welcome.....glad to have helped ;). But I wouldn't give up just yet....keep calling back because you never know what might become available :goodvibes. We are booked at the WL in December and I'm seriously considering switching to the Poly.....that's how much we love it there; although the WL is beautiful at Christmas time :santa:. Have a great trip and good luck with getting AP rate for the Poly :).

Our first six trips were at the Polynesian. Our kids were younger and we really appreciated the proximity to the MK and the monorail line. As the kids got older, they wanted to be closer to Epcot and the Studios so we switched to the Beach Club. We have been to the Beach Club ever since and we'll be there in a few more days!!

Easy choice for me, BC, just for the fact you can get the dining plan and still save money plus stay at a great resort. I love the BC.
