I'm still confused if I would like to stay at the Poly or BC?? The BC has a better pool and has a hot tub, but the Poly's theme is desirable. I have read more positive things about the Poly than the BC? If I stay at either resort it will have to be a standard view room. If you have stayed at both-which one would you choose and why? I just want to get an idea. Thank you for any input. :flower:

I like having everything under one roof, i.e. restaurants, lobby, front desk, rooms. When we stayed at Poly (twice) if it was raining you were pretty much gonna stay in your room or get wet going to any other part of the hotel. Also at night there's so much more to do around the Epcot area. You have the Boardwalk, Epcot, MGM, Dolphin, Swan, YC and BC. Beaches and Cream is right there too.

We have stayed at both resorts, but really prefer the location of the Epcot resorts. Also, we felt the service and attention at the BC was far superior to the Poly experience we had. Both are great, but we prefer BC. :earsgirl:

We've stayed at both several times. Both have their merits, theme, location, transportation, etc.

With that being said, I would choose the Poly based on your need to stay in a Standard View. IMHO, the POLY has some of the best Standard View rooms at Disney. Our last three (SV) trips to the Poly we asked for and received the Samoa Building, ground floor, looking at the Volcano pool. Great location and view.

Good luck...and remember...you can't go wrong with these two choices! :goodvibes

I have to vote for the BC. We love the Epcot resort area and with the Boardwalk and Epcot within an easy walking distance, it has a little more to offer, IMHO.

Have stayed at both (Polynesian 6X, BC once). We are going back to the BC in three weeks. We loved the Polynesian when the kids were younger, and all we had to do was hop on the monorail or boat to get to the MK. Pool was great as well. Now that the kids are older, they prefer the EPCOT resort area, so we now choose the BC. It's closer to WS and the Studios, and they love Stormalong Bay.

If you've never stayed at the Polynesian, you've GOT to try it! :wizard:
The Magic Kingdom resorts are very special :cheer2:
Enjoy~

I myself can only compare the YC and Polynesian and while the YC was great and so was the area around it we still prefer the Polynesian. I can also say that a friend who is there now at the BC and has been to the BC before and loved it just moved to the BC from the Polynesian on Monday and he called to say that him and his family liked the Polynesian better than the BC.

I guess the good thing is that even if one is better than the other neither is a bad choice so it will be hard to make a mistake by staying at either one.

We were moving from VWL to BC and the last day ate dinner at O'hana. We fell in love with the Poly- but they had no availability to switch. So off to BC. We enjoyed our two nights at BC - chased off by Dennis- the pool was great, the location was great. But I agree, there is something special about the Poly, like the AKL that feels exotic - like a real vacation outside the U.S.- with a wonderful view of MK fireworks and castle, ease of monorail. We love to ride the monorail, and don't think I would have minded the ride to EPCOT instead of walking. To make is simpler- try the Poly, I don't see how you would regret it. Also- O'hana was the best meal of our 9 day trip!

These are our 2 favorites (cr #3) that we have been rotating. I would totally base it on which park I will spend more time at, or want to be near. Or if its an extended stay we split them. Best of both worlds.

I prefer MK area. So poly has that advantage. But BC has SAB, and is actually closer to ALL of the other parks, and shopping, DTD areas. (than the poly). BC walk to epcot, boat to mgm.

Both resorts are similiar, Socially. They are family orientated. Friendly. Inviting. Comfortable. Poly is older, but has much larger rooms. BC has all indoor corridors and air conditioning is non stop unless your stepping outside to the resturant area, or to the yc crossover. Both have great cm's.
BC is usually a little more economical than poly. BC has several hot tubs. poly =0.

Either way you cannot go wrong. If I can't get poly we try Bc, am not dissappointed or even think twice about. ***Author note** do not feel same way about YC. Completely different experience (would be more equal to gf and yc.)

Good luck! Mky princess:

We like BC a lot better. We just returned from the Poly over july 4th weekend. We like the epcot area resorts b/c we feel like we have more to do plus we like epcot a lot. Poly was a nice resort but we like the area of BC better. And I agree about the walking in the rain thing.

When are you going and who's in your travel party?

I've been advised in the past to stay at BC due to the pool, ages of my kids, and location; however, one child of mine says it looks boring and doesn't care about the pool. The other child of mine doesn't care about how the resort looks, because they wants to swim in SAB. One would rather have a unique theme and the other a fun pool. Our family loves staying at the WL, but that is the only deluxe that we have stayed at. So confused. It looks like both the BC and Poly are pretty well liked and popular.

I'm one of those wierdos who just doesn't get the appeal of the Poly. To me is just screams, "brady Bunch goes to hawaii." Sorry Mickey.

We love the Beach Club. Theming and location are both great.

We've stayed at both and loved both. At BC, we were in a villa, and at Poly, we were in concierge. Of course if I had to choose BC villa or Poly Concierge it would be the villa....seperate bedroom, kitchen, full fridge, etc.

If you are comparing standard rooms from each, then it really depends on the ages of your children, what you plan on doing ,etc.

The BC is walking distance to Epcot which was GREAT! A quick boat ride to MGM as well. I can't wait to go back there again on a future trip. The pool was fantastic and the kids loved it. You can walk over to the Boardwalk, Dolphin and Swan as well so good access to many restaurants.

The Poly has the monorail which is great with a double stroller. Wheel it in with kids and stuff loaded and get off at the park entrance. We had the concierge/beach front, so it was romantic, and had nice advantages to a standard room. The Transportation Center is an easy walk from the Poly, so you can walk over there and get on an Epcot monorail without switching.

Both are nice....just look at where you will spend the most time......MK or Epcot/MGM. That will really be the deciding factor.

The past 2 summers we did a split stay...I love them both....poly a little better...but this past summer I think I enjoyed BC better....I think it depends where you are going to spend most of your time.....if MK then..the poly.....both are wonderful.....I use to like poly pool better...but this summer I enjoyed the BC pool better....we were there in June...poly pool is much smaller and gets very crowded...BC could be crowded and is so big..you don't even know it is crowded.....like I said...love both....decide your resort by which parks you are going to be at the most......have fun.... :flower: amy
