Ok, here is the deal, I was lucky enough to score 40% off, so I can stay at the Poly for what I would normally pay for ASMO, it is just DS and I , and we are park people, I want to do it, more than I can ever tell you, I am just trying to justify it... I am driving my family nuts ( all who say go ahead and do it by the way:lmao: ) But, I just don't know...

For you Park people would you do it, we are talking we nap and sleep in the room that is about it, we normally water park hop instead of using the resort pool....

But again this is probably a one time thing for me, and I know I could never do it when we travel in Feb.

Help Me Please !!!!

Well, if you are just park people, you will be closer to MK and it's such a convenient monorail ride to Epcot. But if you stay at ASMo, I might take you the same time by bus to get to Epcot as it would to go by monorail. So I say splurge and go to the Poly :)

It is MUCH faster to take the monorail from the TTC (5-10 minutes max from any building in the Poly, then about a 10 minute ride) than the bus from ASMo.

But if they are the same price, I say spoil yourself and go Poly!!!

You may be park people now but after a night or two at the Poly, I'm guessing you'll be transformed into resort people. I would jump at the chance to stay in a deluxe resort, especially the Poly for value prices. Go for it and enjoy!!!

This is what I am afraid of :rotfl:

But, I really want to do it and I don't know think I will ever get a chance to do it again for 1800.00 for a week, w/ dining and tickets:rolleyes1

I know I should just call and do it and get it over with :confused3

I would DEFINITELY go for the Poly. I got back not too long ago from my very first stay there and was so impressed. The theming is simply amazing. It really did feel like I was in Hawaii with Cinderella's Castle in view. I can't even begin to tell you how convenient it was to be able to take the monorail to the MK. And then go to the TTC and take the monorail to Epcot. Honestly, I didn't get to spend too much time at the Poly because my mother and I are park people. We just can't reason spending time at the resort (as gorgeous as it may be) when there's rides to be ridden. However, the time we did spend at the Poly was precious and if you were going to go back in the middle of the day for a nap, it's extremely convenient because of the monorail. It's great watching Wishes from the beach at night as well. Go say "Aloha" to the Poly!

GO FOR IT!!! Seriously, do the Poly. It is so worth doing at least once to experience--especially if it will be awhile before you can do it again. :thumbsup2

I thunk I am going to do it, Ok going to go call Disney now and just take the leap, otherwise I will just drive myself and all of you nuts until , yes until I still go and do it

Well...did you do it?! Time for a new ticker?!

You got the Poly for the same price as a value? Sounds like you got more than 40% off. I would take the Poly for the same price in a heartbeat. Congratulations. :)

$1600 for a week at the Polynesian INCLUDING DINING AND TICKETS?! wow! :faint:

You know, I don't think you'd find ANYONE on this board, even the fans of the value resorts, who would tell you to NOT take advantage of that great deal! You can always stay at a value resort in the future, but you might not get the chance to stay at the Polynesian for such a great rate again.

I can't wait to read that you've booked the Polynesian! :sunny:

Well with the 40% off code, The Value came to 991.00 w/ tickets and dining which is what i have booked, Poly is 1695.00 ( and I could be off a couple of cents) So, I keep thinking it is about 500 but really I guess it is closer to 700.00 , I just paid 1500.00 for ASMU preferred in Feb and that was only 4 nights, so I am actually comparing it to my regular trip costs this is for 6nights / 7 days and I think it was either 1676.00 or 1695.00 because one quote is for GF and the other is the Poly and the difference was 20.00...

Now, I had been going back and forth between POR and CSR as well but those were 1212.00 each , and I figured if I am going to do it , then I am going to do it right !

The figures will change a little since my tickets are just base, I am still deciding if I am upgrading to an AP or not, so if not that will change my amount but not by to much...

OP, it sounds like you've already decided but just in case you're still wavering I thought I would add my 2 cents. We went for our first weeklong trip right after 9/11 and had our pick of where to stay at great rates. We could have gone really budget and stayed at ASMo for about $49 a night or stayed at WL for about the current rack rate for a mod OR just slightly more for the Polynesian. We opted to go the middle road and stay at WL. While we loved the resort, I could have kicked myself for not grabbing that rate and staying at the Polynesian. I've always wanted to stay there and that is the only time it has ever been affordable for me. We have had other oportunities to stay at the WL, and hopefully will have more, but getting a good deal like that at the Polynesian just doesn't happen often. It is just so popular. So, long story short - GO FOR IT! And enjoy a drink by the volcano pool for me.;)
