Poly, no discounts.......

Well it looks as if the Poly has no discounts through Disney with the latest round. Correct? Guess Disney knows they don't have to discount it for people to stay there. It joins the ranks of the LMermaid rooms at AoA, POFQ, and others I guess I can't think of. It looks as if the only way to get a discount is to go through Orbitz or Travelocity.

Do you think this will always be the case with the Poly going forward?

It may just be the dates you want because Poly has the discount for my trip dates (7/05-711) try extending your stay by a day or 2 during your search and see if the discount is available because sometimes the range makes a difference. If you do get the discount for the longer range, book it and then you can call back later and shorten your stay back to the original checkout date and still keep the discount.

I had to do that with my previous trip.

I book the Contemporary thru the travel agent mentioned on the other thread with the Zlabor Day special and they had rooms at the Poly available with that sale.

The Poly is included, at 30% off. Only the Poly Villas and Bungalows (the DVC rooms) are not included.

You guys are exactly right! I was just looking around at the rates and such on Orbitz. Well its good to know they are still offering some discounts on the place, for now. Never know if I will be able to afford to stay there, but maybe one day I will. I think the cheapest rack rate night in a value season for a standard view is like $480? But if you go through that special agency I know you can get a good rate during August as well.

When will Orbitz, Costco, and the other travel agencies start matching the price from the magical travel agent? I still don't understand why they let other travel agents undercut them and lose business?

They probably won't. Just like Disney doesn't match prices.

Not only that, but not everyone knows about the agency discounts. I found out on accident looking for August discount rumors. If I had known what they would have been, I probably never have found it. We were going to stay at CBR and switched to Poly.

I had been nervous because I kept reading here that people were staying at poly in August because of the deal and I thought it would be overcrowded. It the dawned on me that a huge number of visitors to wdw when we will be there will never even have heard of this discount.

If I am major one of those big travel companies I would not match what a few people are getting.
