Decided to go with the Poly for March trip which is coming up! I can still get an AP rate at both levels so I am trying to decide between the two. LV is much more expensive but that view.... WOW!!!...but the price WOW WOW!
Is it worth the extra $$. Anyone stay gardenview and been disapointed??

Anyone have any thoughts or opinions. We are a family of four with two girls ages 7 and 11. We are just doing the resort and possibly the waterparks this time around. Just need some nice restful days away at our favorite place in the world so I thought CL would be great so the girls could go back and get a snack during the day etc.

Also- any Mickey bars at night in the CL lounge. My girls adore them!

We just got back from a CL stay at the Poly. We had booked GV but were suprised with an upgrade to LV when we arrived. I can honestly say that we do not want to be without that view for any other trips. If budget was the deciding factor, we would go with TPV before the club level. It was nice, but we could have done without it...even though I sdo think it is worth it. Have a great trip!

So had you booked GV CL and they upgraded you to LV CL, or did you just book regular GV and the upgrade was LV club level? Just curious. :goodvibes

When I stayed Club Level at the Polynesian in December 2007 I had reserved a Garden View Room and at check-in I was told we were upgraded to a Lagoon View Room. While it was a nice view I am not sure if it's worth the extra cost per night, because when we made that reservation we just wanted their least expensive Club Level Room since the view for us wasn't that important.

We stayed GV CL and the room was nothing to write home about. We got a balcony room on the 3rd floor, but it was completely blocked in by palms and made the room dark all the time. We never used the balcony. We didn't spend much time in the room, though, so it didn't matter to me in the end. I would take that room over a LV non-CL room. The CL part was wonderful. Probably not worth the price, IMO, but so great to be able to graze through the lounge any time, watch the fireworks from the lounge, and just have the extra space in the lounge to hang out in.

We had booked a GV CL. You can get a perfect theme park view from the club level lounge or the beach though. We have a two year old who goes to bed at 7:15pm. We loved being able to tuck him into bed on time and relaxing at the room for the rest of the evening. It may not be super important to you if you do not have young children, but for us it is something we will spring for in the future.

We stayed at the Poly CL during our honeymoon this past December. We chose garden view because it was what we could afford.

It was a LOVELY view!!!:goodvibes We requested a 3rd floor room and here was our view:

We loved sitting on our balcony in the mid afternoon and relaxing with this pretty view.

What we learned is when you stay CL at the Poly, there is no point to paying for a lagoon or TP view (unless you have $$ to burn). The CL lounge has a perfect view of the castle and they pipe in the music for Wishes. We also loved watching Wishes from the beach right outside of our building:goodvibes

I can totally see the novelty of paying for a TP view if you are staying non-CL, but for us, the garden view was gorgeous :cloud9:

I hated the garden view especially since our flight arrived six hours late so we were stuck on the ground floor. Felt likeveryone in the resort walked past our patio. No privacy.

This thread is totally making me want CL!! I just have regular garden view. We were lucky to be able to afford that. Oh well. I'll love it either way, I'm sure. Can't wait!

We love the Poly, so I don't think you could go wrong with a garden view room, especially a CL garden view room. We stayed CL LV at the Poly 2 years ago and it was lovely. We got the super "pay for 4 get 3" deal, so the price was hard to beat. We had a perfect view of the Castle from our room on the 2nd floor - but no balcony - which was fine with us. The Lounge (as has been mentioned) offers those large windows, so you can watch the evening fireworks and gets lots of Castle picture shots. We just came back from AKL and I would have loved to have a Savannah view, but it wasn't in the budget - we stayed standard and had a grand time. I'm bringing this up really to say that you can have a great time at the Poly and while a view room is nice you can still enjoy all the Poly has to offer with out one. BTW, no Mickey Bars at the lounge.

I'd pick GV-CL over LV. You can still have the great view in the lounge and the extra space/offerings would be great if you are spending most of your time at the resort.

I don't really like anything about the other buildings with LV/TPV. Tahiti is too far away from the action for me, and Tuvalu is right on the water which some like, but I hate. Also, the soundtrack to Wishes is barely (if at all) audible in those locations which is a deal breaker for me.

The more I read, the more I find myself trying to find the extra money for CL. It sounds heavenly!!!
