Is the only difference between the two rates the size of the room? What does the suite look like? Is it just an over-sized standard room? We have a LV Conc. room reserved, and it will only be dh, ds, and I. But I'm wondering if the Suite would be a lot nicer?? We've never been to WDW before, so I really am clueless! (but very, very excited!) :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

From my understanding, the suites are similar to oversized guest rooms. Also, the concierge lounge (staff desks and lounge with food) are in the Hawaii longhouse where the lagoon view concierge and garden view concierge rooms are, so it's much more convenient to be located in the Hawaii longhouse. The suites are in the Tonga longhouse, so you'd have to walk over to Hawaii to get some of the food offerings. Check out Tikiman's super website for details (there's tons if info on there):

You'll have a great view of the lagoon and castle from your LV room in Hawaii as well as the convenience to the lounge. Tonga is just steps away from Hawaii but does not offer that view.

The "Suite Concierge", "One Bedroom Princess", "Two Bedroom Princess" and the "King Kamehameha Suite" all have MK/lagoon/marina/fireworks views.

Ooops , sorry Cali...I'm sure you're correct, but as they face the marina it seems as if it would be at right angles to the castle?? Oh, I bet you can see the fireworks but not the castle as you can do from some of the rooms at the GF. Is that what you mean?

The suites that Cali mentioned do have a view of the castle directly looking down the marina. My Princess Suite room page shows a view and if you click on the Mickey ears it will give you a larger picture where you can see the castle. Also the Tonga longhouse does have a small lounge with some food offerings and a Concierge desk with staff that will take care of what ever you need done.

I was interested in this, too, since the prices aren't really that far apart. I did visit Tikiman's site and, maybe I misread, but I thought the Tonga longhouse was a garden view. I should probably go back and read again! I think I might like to try a suite just for fun, even though there's only my husband and myself. Why not, right??

If we did the suite, we can still pop over to Hawaii and get the big concierge food, right?

Wow, I really had this mixed up. I thought the suites were in the old Hawaii. I take it Tonga used to be Bali Hai?? Sorry for the misinformation!! It is hardly steps from there to Hawaii, is it?:o

AllyandJack,

You are correct. the view from the Tonga suites is considered a garden view but you have a view of the castle and the marina from the King Kamehameha and Princess suites. Just like the view from Fiji that has a view of the marina and the view from Aotearoa that faces the lagoon and are still considered a garden view. The only Lagoon View rooms are in Tahiti, Hawaii, Tokelau (2 rooms), Tuvalu and a few rooms in Aotearoa.

Yes you still get to use the big lounge in Hawaii. Do you think the prices are not much different? At least $200 more a night during value season.

I just looked at wdw.com and it says that Lagoon View Concierge is $470/night and suite concierge is $495/night. I just want to know what the difference is and if the suite is worth the $25/night more.

I don't want one of the bigger suites (the ones with names, which are a lot more expensive), but what is this "suite concierge" for $495/night??

The one room that cost $495 a night is a standard size room in the Tonga longhouse that is used as an add on for the other suites. The room is no different than the other standard Polynesian rooms and does not have as good a view. I would not really call it a suite other than it is in the suite longhouse. The cheapest suite room (one bedroom Princess) is $600 a night during value season. I have the price list from off the concierge desk at home.

I hope this helps.

Steve
