Poly Luau or Hoop-Dee-Do Review

We have done Hoop-Dee-Do Review before and thought it was cute (my son does not remember it, he was really young). We have not done the Luau. We are going Thanksgiving week and we have a 10 year old son and can't decide which one to try and make reservations.

HDDR is defianately a much better show. But if you never done the Luau it's always good to try new things there. At least once.

Hoop Dee Do!

I would save the Luau for a Hawaiian vacation.

We're doing the Luau. The main reason is that it is easier to get to/from for us. I've also heard they let the kids get up and hula, which I know my daughter would LOVE. HDDR...I don't know...it looks so hokey, but I hear great things about it. Maybe one of these days I'll give it a try. We're going out to FW for the BBQ, but I can't bring myself to make another trip for HDDR.

I know I'm in the minority, but I enjoyed the luau a lot more than HDDR. Both for the food and the entertainment. We just did it last Thursday and my whole family thought it was great. My kids didn't eat much - but that's par for the course - we just roll with it at almost all the restaurants. And the waitress brought my son 2 hot dogs when she saw he wasn't eating anything - she was very nice.

But I really enjoyed the whole show - I thought the dancers were excellent and loved the costumes and everything. And as everyone says, the fire dancer was amazing.
