Poly longhouse request?

We are staying at the Poly for the first time (and first non value resort) and, other than eating at Ohana and Kona, we are not very familiar with the resort. I checked out Tikimans website to get some info but I was wondering if we should request a specific longhouse or are they all pretty good? We will be traveling with a 4 yo and a 13mo so proximity to the main building and transportation would be good. We are booked in a garden view room and the actual view doesn't really matter alot to us. We won't be spending a ton of time in our room, gazing out of the window. So should we request or not? And if so, what is your favorite longhouse?

Depends what's important to you. Do you want to be near the Great Ceremonial House, the pool, the marina, the TTC? Do you care about a patio or balcony? Last time we made no request and got Tahiti MK view. On the plus side we got an upgraded view and had a nice short walk to the TTC. In retrospect though, we would have preferred being closer to the GCH and the pool. But that's us, your priorities may be different.

Being close to the pool or marina is definitely not important and I'm really indifferent about a patio or balcony. Well, I guess being close to GCH and transportation would be our highest priorities. I think what I am mostly trying to find out is, is there really any bad longhouse or area we could be assigned to if I don't request a specific one? Is there any place where we could potentially be really far away from everything like at a value resort?

You'll get much more info on the Tikiman site than you will here.

My favorite is Tuvalu, water view, top floor.

My favorite is Fiji. It's behind the volcano pool and a nice easy walk to GCH and the monorail. Last trip we had a patio over looking that little boat cove (it was a Garden view room) and the back of the pool and it was just beautiful, but I care much less about view than I do about proximity to GCH, Capt. Cooks and pool . We were in Tahati on the trip before that, and we didn't like it that much, too far from the center of the action. I would rather travel from the monorail at the GCH than the TTC but that's just me. We have good friends who go every year and request Tahati and love it.

Our favorite longhouse is Samoa - based on it's proximity to the pools and GCH. (The view towards the Volcano Pool is spectacular because it also has the GF in the background.)

But if you don't need to be close to the pools, Rarotonga is also another great option because it is close to both the GCH and the Bus Stop. It's also just a short walk to the TTC to grab the EPCOT monorail.

It all depends on what your priorities are - Good Luck!:flower3:

I would recommend requesting being "close to the GCH house" in your reservation.

The farthest buildings from the GCH would be Tahiti & Rapa Nui. They are about a 5 minute walk to the GCH-dining, shopping, monorail. I do love Tahiti because we spend a lot of time at Epcot and you can walk easily to the TTC.
