Poly in Nov. with no hot tub/spa!!!!!

We're staying at the Poly in Nov., but there's no hot tub at this resort. I'm torn about changing resorts because I really want to try this hotel, but I think I might freeze in the pool at night if there's no hot tub to jump into. This might be reason enough to switch! Any Poly advice about this?

I know just what you mean. We had decided on the Poly and I was really excited about it until we found out that there was no hot tub. We wanted to be on the monorail and the CR just didn't appeal to me. So we're splurging and going with the GF now. It's within walking distance of the Poly and I think that I just might have to take that walk to soak up some of that tropical paradise atmosphere. But I need a hot tub after a long day walking the parks.

What??? No hot tub??? We were considering changing from AKL to the Poly so we would have the monorail (easier with 11-month-old granddaughter) but a hot tub is a MUST, especially in December when it may be too cold for the pool. I guess that idea is deep-sixed.

I have been in the Poly's pools many times when it was very very cold outside, but since the pools are heated, being in the water was fine. It was the getting out and running back to the room freezing wet that kinda sucked, lol. (now there's a good use for wearing that concierge robe to the pool---Just kidding!! I would never do that!)

No, it's not the same as a hot tub, but we found we could still swim in all kinds of cold weather since the pools are heated.
Might have to bring my own robe to the Poly next winter, lol.

And that's why we won't be staying at the Poly again, even though we loved it. We gotta have a hot tub after a long day trekking around the parks! I can't figure out why they didn't put one in when they redid the main pool.

I thought that one corner of the pool at the Poly has jets like a hot tub.

There is an area with water coming into the pool near one of the bridges, but it's not like a hot tub. It feels good on tired feet.

I don't mind not having a hot tub. I think those things are just disgusting anyway. Read some of the old threads on this...Yuck

I think hot tubs are disgusting too. Nothing like taking a bath with strangers! Blech.

I find that odd too, that they don't have a hot tub.

Another thing I find kind of odd.........I thought I read somewhere that the POLY doesn't have King beds, except for the suites. Is this right?? Any other resorts that don't have king beds??

I don't think the Value resorts have hot tubs either. Maybe I'm wrong. I don't remember seeing one at AMovies. Do they have them at POP?

We stayed at the poly once and thought it was lovely, but that was before we stayed at the YC. There are lots of hot tubs there, including one at the quiet pool that's often empty.

The value resorts also do not have hot tubs.

yes, count me in as one who doesn't miss having a hot tub at the Poly--I think they are kind of gross too.

To be honest, when we stayed there last November we didn't miss it. The weather was warm enough to do the pool each evening. The quiet pool is really warm -- like bath water -- so you definitely stay warm enough. I am not a big hot tub fan due to the DSs so wasn't even a factor for us. We love the Poly and at this point can't imagine staying anywhere else.

I agree. I am glad the Poly doesn't have hot tubs. It would only be infested with kids whose parents don't watch them.

Wilderness Lodge has a nice hot tub - as does Coronado Springs.

Why? Are you one of those parents that let their kids hang out in the hot tub? Does it offend you that others don't want a bunch of kids in there? I have 3 wonderful kids but I wouldn't let them in a hot tub. I watch my kids. It is a shame other parents don't watch theirs.

I agree. Every WDW resort that I have stayed at has had more kids in the hot tub than adults. No parents to be seen around the hot tub watching their little darlings.

Most places have an age limit that kids are allowed in the hot tub. I guess a lot of parents don't know how to read or figure the rules don't apply to their children.

My kids never went in the hot tub until they were old enough and I was right there the entire time.

Thank you! After that last poster I was beginning to feel like an ogre for not wanting a bunch of unattended children somewhere where they do not belong. I really think that Disney should have signs that children under 18 are not allowed in the hot tubs. At all the hotels we go to any other time there are always signs stating that. It is a shame that Disney can't do this.
