I have an unexpected chance to go to WDW in mid Dec this year. I booked Poly using one of the great rates. I have always wanted to stay there. Plus it will be myself with DD (10) and DS (5). I thought I would like to be on the monorail especially with 1 adult and 2 kids. My only concern is that it won't be "Christmassy" enough.;) Should I switch to GF or BC instead? I am not overly excited to stay at GF, but that is just my own personal preference. I've already been to the CR and wanted to stay somewhere new. It will only be for 3 nights. BC is my next "preference" after Poly. Anyone have any input or suggestions? TIA!

If the GF isn't you, and you want the Xmas mood, you have to stay at Wilderness Lodge! The ultimate in Xmas theming! I know it isn't on the monorail, but the decorations are fabulous!

Haven't seen the BC in Xmas so can't speculate there, but I know you won't be disappointed with the Xmas theme at WL.

We were dining at the Beach Club last year as they were putting up the Christmas decorations....wow!!! They went "all-out" as far as decorations went.....the best was the huge gingerbread gazebo. I've never seen anything like it before. And the tree.....OMG, it was gorgeous!!!

I would say that the BC is VERY CHRISTMASSY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My husband and I stayed at the Poly In Dec. It was the first time we had stayed there. I had to move to the WL because it did not feel like Christmas at the Poly. It was almost depressing for me. I really liked the WL better for Christmas. I am going to give the Poly another chance this Oct. I think the reason I did not like the Poly was because it just didn't seem like Christmas there.

Hi Kim&Chris-

I see you're staying at the Poly in Dec. When will you be there? Are you at all "concerned" about the Christmassy feel? BC is HIGH on my wish list of places to stay yet, but I thought the monorail would be nice for such a short visit and the MVMCP.

Hi Sharoncity,

We're not concerned about the "Christmassy" feel of the Polynesian. I'm sure they'll have some sort of Christmas display going, but we're planning on going resort-hopping via the monorail & check out all of the other resort's Christmas displays.

I found a few pictures of the Poly at Christmas, and they do have a tree & some wreaths displayed. Certainly not as big a display as the Beach Club, but hey, I'll take it! ;)

Kim&Chris-

Do you have the link to the site with the pictures of the Poly at Christmas? I'd love to see them. Thanks!

I'll try to find the site again. When I find it, I'll "pm" the site to you!

We have stayed at Polynesian in Dec a couple times and loved it! To be frank we were a little disappointed last year with the diminished level of Christmas decorations, but we just visited GF and WL and got our fill!

One thing they do have is Hawaiian Christmas music played from speakers throughout the resort! You haven't lived until you've heard that.
