Poly Hawaii buld upgrade??

How often and NOT do people really get upgraded to LV at Hawaii. I can't wait to make my AP ressie for May when they come out, but I would be so scared to make it for a GV and hope for a upgrade? I would get there and they would laugh at me. I tried for a upgrade once at the Old Dixie Landing in 95 for a King room, it was just me and my husband at the time, and she said, that will be an extra $30 a night. I felt like a idiot.

Just my own opinion, and maybe I'm a sucker, but if you want a lagoon view, then I'd pay for a lagoon view. There are no guarantees, I don't really think that many people really do get upgrades for free. (I did get one in May at the Yacht Club, but only because they upgraded my sister for some reason and my BIL said we had to be near each other and kind of fought for us...I never would have asked.)

If the view is that important to you, I'd pay the extra money so I wouldn't be disappointed at check in.

We stayed in Hawaii for the first time in Nov. I too had booked a GV and really hoped for an upgrade to LV (I just couldn't afford the extra cost to book it). It didn't happen even though they knew we were celebrating our 20th anniversary. I was a little disappointed but they did honor my request for a 1st floor room and it was very nice.

Next trip I will save a little longer and book that fabulous view. My advice is if it is really important to you then book the room you really want.

Yea, your right, I think I will go ahead and book a LV. I hear about these people who get these upgrades, and I am never that lucky in anything.
