POLY golf cart ?

Do all guests at the POLY get a ride to their longhouse or just the guests who stay at concierge level? THANKS!

You get a ride to the longhouse no matter if you are staying in concierge or not. We never stay concierge but always get a ride in the golf cart. One time we turned down the offer as the bulding was right next door to the GReat Ceremonial house.

Wow - we stayed concierge last summer and were never offered a golf cart ride to our building. The valet/ bellmen pointed the way for us to walk. How nice. That was disappointing after reading about the fun ride and little tour other people on the DIS have written about.

I wouldn't go to the Poly expecting it - that's for sure. It was our first stay at the Poly and actually that just started the trip off on kind of a bummer because I expected the ride would happen and I had told my girls about what I had read would happen at check in. We were so excited for the golf cart "tour" and leis, but no tour and we had to acutally ASK for leis. I barely had the nerve to ask for them after how rude everyone was, but my girls were dying for the leis. I thought the whole check in was lame.

Good luck to you. Sorry to be such a downer, but don't go to the Poly with ANY expectations.

If I wanted the golfcart tour and wasn't offered then I would ask. We do get the luggage guys to take our luggage so maybe that is the main way to get the tour. They probably won't take you in the golfcart if you handle your own luggage. They pile our luggage on the back of the cart and take us to our longhouse. As far as checkin and getting leis that was really hit and miss but it didn't bother us. We've been to the Poly 6 times and half of those we were not given leis at check in. So you know what we did? We ASKED for them! No big deal! My DD was just as happy with the leis whether we asked for them or were just given them. Every time we passed the front desk she asked for a lei so she could get them in every color! We had a room full of leis by the end of our trip. You will LOVE the Poly. It is our favorite resort. The CMS have always been wonderful, the mousekeepers great, the pool refreshing, the view fantastic, and the atmosphere indescribable. The Poly will meet your expectations and exceed them!

I have never been offered a free ride anywhere at disney! We were two adults and felt kind of stupid asking for the leis- and the CM was "earning her ears" who checked us in- she had no personality or even a smile. Oh well.

The golfcarts are used to deliver luggage. If you happen to use the luggage guys and are there after you checkin they usually take you and your luggage to your room. One time we checked in and went right to the room. We then called down the the bellman and had them bring our luggage up. We really didn't want to hang out waiting so we went right to the room. If I want something that I know if offered then I simply ask for it. That way I don't allow it to put a damper on my trip. Instead of thinking I should have gotten this or that but it wasn't offered, I say I'm glad I asked.

The two times we stayed at the Poly we rode the golf cart with our luggage both times to our rooms and we did not stay concierge either times....smjj

WE've never gotten a golf cart ride! No biggie! But this time we'll be arriving late and be very tired, so I may ask if we're in one of the outlying longhouses... as long as that doesn't make it an "out-house" LOL. I kill myself.
