DH & I honeymooned at the Poly in July 1975. We will be returning next Dec. 2005 to celebrate our 30th anniversary! Neither one of us can remember which building we stayed in. Hey, it was our honeymoon! All I can remember is that we had a garden view and it seemed like we looked out at a golf course type lawn. Any idea which building it might have been? I know that the buildings have different names now and more longhouses have been added since then. I just thought some of you historians might have a clue!

I have no idea, but checkout this website - Tikiman's homepage

he has loads of info about the poly including maps and photos frmo when it was first built.

including this map
bookletmap01th.jpg

which mentions a putting green with Tonga, Maui, Hawaii and Bora Bora overlooking it

and this page http://tikiman2001.homestead.com/poly2.html has the old and new names on it.

Samoa use to be Hawaii and looked out toward a putting green back then. Now it looks out at the quiet pool. It could have also been Rarotonga and Hawaii (now concierge). Those are the only possible longhouses it could have been.

Aloha

Steve

they've also added on to the hotel since then. IF you call the Poly directly and ask for the concierge they should be able to tell you want you want. Also you need to call the reservations desk at least 2wks before you arrival to secure these room, I've heard that really gets you the rooms you want.
Poly is great, however some of the best restraunts have been removed from years past.
I do recommend O'Hana's. Eat light that day so you can enjoy it! lol
Also, the luau food isn't as good as the original days.

I would call CRO and if necessary the Poly direct and ask if it is still recorded in their system. I can't believe the stuff they keep records of about guests...disney knows more about us than "Big Brother" (the govn.) Lol

This has bugged me for awhile and this thread seems the best place to ask.

I can't place where Tangora Terrace Restaurant was.

Also wasn't there another quiet pool toward the TTC?

Thanks

*I can't place where Tangora Terrace Restaurant was.

It was in the building that houses the Arcade, Neverland Club and laundry. The space is still used for private parties.

There is a quiet pool in the area where the putting green was when christianweecare honeymooned. The putting green is history.
