Poly for just a few days?

HI everyone,

Would like some opinions on this....
I really would love to spend my next WDW vacation at the Poly. BUT>>> I can honestly say that we would be way over budget if we spent the entire week there.

If you had a choice.... would you rather spend 4 nights at a Value resort and 3 nights at the Poly, or the entire week at a moderate resort (POR most likely).

I know many people do not like to move midweek, but is it worth the four days of value just to experience 3 days of a deluxe?

Thanks!
Catrin

We have this debate EVERY year at our house. We always decide to go mod - we've done them all over the years (except Riverside, which we just don't like the theme). Our fav is CSR - it is just so close to being deluxe - matter of fact, I say, if it were closer to the parks, or on the monorail, it would be a deluxe. The theme just works. Either way, enjoy.
8 days until Poly!!!!!!!

We just got through this "debate" at my house, too! We ended up booking 5 nights at POR and then 3 nights at Poly. I personally would have been perfectly happy at POR for the entire time, but DH wants to see Poly. I'm sure it will be fun and an absolute blast! :flower: We've never done a split resort stay before so I'm anxious to see how it goes.

I have done this in the past.

I went with my cousin & we spent our first 3 nights at the All Stars & then we switched over to the Poly for 3 or 4 nights.

We knew what the Poly was like having stayed there on pretty much most of out trips growing up so we didn't want the dissapointment of going from a Deluxe to a Value.

If you are going to do this do Value first then Deluxe. And Disney moves your bags for you.

I think it is! But beware...value will never be good enough again. :flower:

Have you considered renting points from a DVC member (not Poly, but BCV, BWV, SSR, WLV & OKW)? Deluxe stay for moderate price...

If you've always wanted to try Poly, you should give it a try. We just returned from 4 nights at POR and then 3 at Poly. We'd always been moderate people and I still think POR is grand. However, I got a code which made Poly more affordable. We had a rental car, so we did our own bags with no problem. The move was really very easy. As others have said, make sure to leave the Poly for the end of your trip. I have never stayed at a Value, so I can't offer an informed opinion on that.

Definitely, worth it! :goodvibes
We have done that a few times now, even sometimes just spending 1 day at the Poly. The move was fairly easy and well worth it if it meant spending any time at the Poly. We actually prefer the values to the moderates anyway, so I would definitely vote for the split between the value/Poly.
