Poly for jan?

Not sure if this is the right place to post this. My family is hoping to stay in 2 studios with rented points in late Jan and would like to be at the Poly. Does it seem like there will be openings in late Jan there? We are close to the 7 month mark but not quite. Hoping to stay the whole week there if we can get it but I just have no idea what to expect for availability.

Easier said than done. First, there aren't that many PVB owners; second, the vast majority of PVB owners probably want to stay there themselves rather than renting; and third, if you are wanting to rent two studios in January, you'll need to find a PVB owner who has at least 236 points to rent.

I think you have a decent chance of booking two PVB studios at the 7-month mark, but you really should to have a DVC owner secure the reservation as soon the 7-month mark opens. Demand for PVB studios through December has been very strong, but historically demand for all DVC villas tends to weaken after Marathon Week in early January.

Thanks. I'm hoping the timeframe and our flexibility with dates will help. I know a great owner who can rent us points, but she does not own at Poly and I'm not sure yet if she will have 236 points--I should know this week. I guess I have to figure out if we can go through her directly and see what is open at the 7 month mark right away that day or if we will need to work with an agency if she doesn't have enough points. If I was going to work with an agency, then I thought, well, maybe I don't need to wait for the 7 month mark, but the points are then a little more expensive and I also wondered whether there would be many owners renting out points for Poly at this point, as you said, wdrl. This is our first time renting DVC. I'm pretty excited about it. We need to be on the monorail for our particular group's mobility needs and the strollers we are traveling with, so renting points is the only way to make it within our budget. I can definitely see one of my family members wanting to buy into DVC after we stay there, but I'm good with renting as I'm happy to return to the moderates when we are out of stroller territory.

There is a Poly owner trying to rent 142 points on the Rent/Trade board. That would be one studio in your pocket and only one more to get at 7 months.

There also will be more Poly owners renting as time goes by.
