So we are travelling in late Sept early Oct and were wondering which of the longhouses to request. This is what we need your help for!!! We will have 2 little ones with us so we would like MK view as we may not be able to make it down to the beach to watch the fireworks so if we had a longhouse with this view that would be perfect. Are the only options for this the Tahiti and Tokelau? If so which is best? We don't mind walking and will have strollers with us so we're not too concerend about being far away from the dining areas. Also are there any rooms in particular that are better than others that anyone has stayed at? If so which ones? Thanks for any help!! Oh yes I almmost forgot do these longhouses have elevators??

I'm a newbie when it comes to the Poly - our first visit is in October. But from my research the unobstructed MK views are in Aotearoa, Tuvalu, Tahiti and I would think Hawaii as well but thats concierge. Tokelau has garden & a couple lagoon view rooms but maybe you can see the MK from there - I'm not sure. There is a great website you google Polynesian Resort it may come up. Its full of info from a man named Steve not sure his last name.

I hope someone comes along w/more info.

Just google "tikiman" He has the best Poly site bar none! My first visit is in Nov and I check out his photos once a week just to get excited all over again! :cool1:

You should book a MK View room if that is the view you want. Then it won't matter much which long house you are in. Do look for the aforementioned "banned from these boards" web site. It has photos of the views from various long houses.

Have a great trip!

My kids watched the fireworks from their bed every night from the 3rd floor in Tahiti! They were too young to stay up and sit on the beach. It was AWESOME!!

I think as long as you book Magic Kingdom view you'll be happy with whichever building you get. Each of the 3 main MK view buildings, mentioned above, have different pros and cons. Many people love the Tahiti building but I don't like how far it is from the GCH. I think I would prefer Aotearoa or 3rd floor Tuvalu.

Dear my2boyz

We have stayed at the Tahiti and its pros and cons cancel each other out.

Because this longhouse is so far from the Great Ceremonial House, we felt we lost the magic of staying at the Poly. The long walk to the Great Ceremonial House, pool, Captain Cooks etc. wasn't a problem it just added to the feeling we were staying at another resort but using the facilities at the Poly.

After a long and tiring day at the Magic Kingdom you can get off the Monorail at the TTC, and walk to your room. It is actually closer (allot closer).

The large boat that takes you from the TTC to the Magic Kingdom is a very short walk. Basically the TTC is right around the corner. That makes traveling to MK and Epcot a snap.

I am not sure if the proximity of the Tahiti Longhouse to the TTC was worth loosing the magic of the Poly to us. We had stayed in the Hawaii building twice before and we had been able to see the fireworks from our room, which was very exciting.

During our last stay at the Poly we requested the Samoa with a pool view first floor as our first choice and the Raratonga first floor as close to the GCH as possible as our second choice.
We received the Raratonga first floor about in the middle of the longhouse with a view of the quiet pool. To be honest I actually liked this room better than the Tahiti. It was quiet, close to everything, and cheaper. The Poly Magic was Back.

I think what you need to do is sit back and look at the numbers. Is the $ for a view of the castle and watching the fireworks from your room once maybe twice worth it two you.
At the time we stayed at the Tahiti it was due to the Hawaii Longhouse being closed due to renovations. I had a really good couple of years and wanted to treat my family to the best the Poly had to offer. Would I do it again? . No I will put the extra money in my Girls college accounts.

Good luck
