To all Poly experts--
DH & I have not stayed at the Poly since way back in 1975 on our honeymoon! We want to return in 2005 for our 30th anniversary, and will have to stay garden view. Please tell us your favorite garden view longhouse and why. I know we do not a parking lot view but nice landscaping would be nice. Even a glimpse of the monorail would be cool. Please give us your expert advise!:wave2:

Firstly, I strongly suggest checking out Tikiman's awesome Polynesian Resort website! From there, you will certainly be able to determine which longhouse will suit you best! Personally, I would choose the Tokelau longhouse! We were in room (I believe) #1915 and it had a wonderful view, much more than we would have ever expected for a GV priced room! Because it was on the first floor, it had a balcony... I have never been a huge fan of being on the lowest floor, although when in a GV room at this resort I feel it is the most convenient. In our case, it was great because just a few steps out allowed us to view the GF and castle! I don't think this would have been possible to see if we were in a room with a deck. From the room itself, we saw the Tahiti longhouse, TTC boat launch, CR, and I think Space Mountain. It was like a LV room in place of a GV! The torches lit just outside the room and we even had a couple of ducks on the patio one morning! They were so adorable! This longhouse's proximity to the TTC and quiet pool/beach make it really convenient and none of the longhouses are actually that far from the GCH or main pool. We had requested the exact rm. we received before our arrival and were so shocked that our dream came true! I think your best bet would be to do the same and hope for the best! Definitely do not choose a longhouse that could give you a parking lot view b/c these rooms are certainly inferior. I don't know about the monorail room views, although IMHO, I feel landscaping is much more pleasant! Regardless, enjoy your stay. Any of the longhouses will do! I know you will have a great time!! ::yes::

We stayed at the Tokelau building twice because we liked the location so much. It is a short walk to everything and in a quiet area. We love the polynesian. The atmosphere is romantic. Great for an anniversary. It has a garden location on one side of the building and the quiet pool on the other. We liked the garden because it was quiet. The ground floor was nice to go walk out to see the fireworks at nite down on the beach. They even play music on the beach for the fireworks. We were greeted by ducks every morning while sitting with coffee on the patio. Have a wonderful time. You will where ever you stay.

another Tokelau vote... we were in #3942 last Thanksgiving and had a great view of the quiet pool, which was noisy at 11pm with a bunch of "little kids" don't know where the parents were, but once we closed the balcony door, it was instant quiet...

Close to the TTC, and when I leaned out a little, I could see the Castle. Short walk back to the GCH, and of course on the last night we were there, we found a shorter shortcut!! figures, but I still didn't mind walking around the resort.

I"m not sure but your view of the monorail may include the parking lot also. I'd take the courtyard view we had anyday! Quiet building, quiet location.

I would vote for Tokelau, too. We were on the third floor and enjoyed the beautiful view of the quiet pool and a sideways view of the castle. It was so close to the Epcot monorail and the GCH and now it will be really close to the new bus stop. We have also stayed in Aoteora with a monorail and enjoyed it too but liked Tokelau best.

Hi Everyone!

We were in Tokelau during our first stay at the Poly (12/01), and are returning to the Poly as part of a land and sea package in Feb. While we are hoping  to get in Tokelau again, are there any longhouses we should try and avoid? If we know about any "less than optimal" spots, I think we would ask to have our luggage held, hit the park, and come back later in hopes of getting a better location.

Thanks for your feedback.

I am voting for Samoa. We just got back this week. We were in room 1604. Ground floor, right next to the pool, a few steps away from Captain Cook's and a hop, skip and jump to the beach. For us with two little kids this was awesome! We did not hear any noise from the pool with the door closed and very little noise from upper floors or neighbors. I LOVED this room. We are so spoiled now - how will I ever stay anywhere else?!?!?! (sigh)
