We are DVC and have a lake view room so we know we will be in the Moorea building. I have seen reports that the elevators are tiny and using them with a scooter is difficult. Can anyone elaborate? I also read somewhere that there is a larger service elevator that can be used with a scooter. Any experiences with that? We splurged on points for the lake view and we hoped for a higher floor for the view over the bungalows. Would hate to only have the ground floor as an option.

I have not yet stayed in Moorea at Poly, however, all of the "original" elevators that I have experienced at Poly are old (1972 vintage) and so are fairly small; generally speaking I would say that 4 full sized adults could stand and a child or smaller adult could be in the center, provided they were pretty chummy.

I have yet to see an ECV that can't fit, but typically you have to drive straight in, and then back straight out. You won't be able to fit a rental that has a big ol' basket on the back with a "standard" basket on the front - make sure that any device you want to use in that elevator fits exactly in the white "size" box on the ground at every Bus Depot.

Haven't ever been in Moorea but stayed in Pago Pago last fall, and yes, the elevator there was indeed tiny.

DH has his own Pride Jazzy powerchair, smaller than the rental scooters. We found the elevator somewhat cramped for us both in it and saw more than one person in a scooter backing out and trying again multiple times.

No idea if a service elevator can be used. Didn't see one.

Moorea has two elevators, one directly in front when you walk in the lobby and one off to the left side. I forget now which one is bigger, but one is much bigger than the other and fit our enormous stroller and fits the laundry carts so a scooter should be fine. The other is very tight.

I think tiny is a stretch. It's a normal sized elevator. You go straight in and back straight out. There are rental scooters all over the hallways on every floor.

We stayed at Poly several years ago. We didn't have a problem with any of the elevators; we had a rental ECV with a front basket. Drive straight in, back straight out. Better to have any other humans get in the elevator before the ECV and come out after instead of trying to squeeze around it; they can also use the buttons to hold the door open and select the appropriate floor.

It in no way is a regular elevator size. It’s small. Really small. It’s the only resort of the 5 we visited in the past 2 weeks that my chair w a backpack and a gift bag on the back for in to. It’s shallow. A ECV fits but you need to pretty much touch the back of the elevator. That said, the WL elevators in the main lodge were also shallow. Maybe a few inches deeper tops.
