but anyway.

Looking at the pictures made me have a couple of thoughts.... The first was that they look amazing and being on the waters edge would be fantastic.... Then I started to have second thoughts.

In the summer when we have stayed at GF we noticed at the waters edge bugs were a big issue.... Wondering if this might be a problem here?

Sitting on a balcony is part of the big attraction of staying in these villa's but that wouldn't work if it had lots of bugs.

Any thoughts?

Not sure have ever been down by the waters edge actually.

Maybe the edge/shore will be bad-but out on the water where these are will good?

I kinda feel bad for some of the POLY views, but we rarely stay there any way.

Nice, TY!

Has anyone seen a floorplan for the new rooms? What size are they?

We don't know yet. No official information has been provided and no floor plans have been filed with Orange County or the SW Water District. Rumors have the bungalows as 2 or 3 bedroom units and the rooms in the Tahiti and Rapa Nui as all studios with possible connecting doors. Tikiman has the most details.

I am curious as to what the two buildings on the beach are for in Tikimans update. I didn't see anything in the April update regarding the buildings and I could not get the link to the DVC information to work.

No floor plan but it appears the bungalows are under 1200 sq ft. Comparable to a Two Bedroom villa....NOT Grand Villa size.

It's entirely possible they have a unique floor plan, perhaps even with a 3rd bedroom (the 3B treehouse villas are under 1100 sq ft) but they simply will not have the space of a typical Grand Villa.

I'm completely with you, what the heck are they?

Thanks for all your info, your website is great!

So it seems the rumors/speculation is that the over-water bungalows will be 2- or possibly 3-bedroom villas. I'm guessing 2-bedrooms, but I wonder if they would all be dedicated. Or would they make some of them lock-off for the option of a 1-bedroom/studio combination?

Its my guess that they will be dedicated vacation homes. To be lock-offs, there would have to be two exterior doors, which are normally along one of the longer sides of the rectangular shaped building. But it appears there is only one entrance doorway at one end of each building, meaning they will have to be dedicated vacation homes. However, trying to decipher buildings under construction is not my strong suit, so don't put any weight on my opinion.

Looking again at the shape of the bungalos, I can see what you mean. I was picturing them simply as a standard 2-BR villa taken from AKV (for instance) and plopped down over the water. But it certainly appears that the elongated shape would offer very little space for two entrances on the shore-side end of the rooms.

I did size calculation based on both 2' roof truss calculations and wall stud calculations and got more than 1400 sqft. Still no where near grand villa size. I will be down in June and will try to get more accurate measurements then

I see they are putting up the walls around the waterfall the last few days starting with the upstairs
:(

When I passed on the monorail yesterday, it looked like the longhouse closest to the TTC was completely gutted, you could see through to the other side.
