Poly December 2013 booking questions

I have a standard room booked 12/3-12/14. When I originally booked (last summer 499 days out) we weren't sure if we'd be able to save enough. It seemed like a pipe dream. Low and behold we've been able to save enough and even a little more than we thought! So now I'm considering upgrading to a TPV, or Standard Club Level. My preference would be TPV. I went to the Disney site today to price it out and the lagoon view and TPV rooms are listed as not available.

Is it possible all those rooms are booked this far out already? It looks like TPV is available from the 9th on, but not before.

I have the standard room booked with a 10% AAA discount right now, but am planning to switch to an AP discount if available as soon as those discounts are released.

Are AP discounts ever available for TPV and/or Club Level? What are my chances here of being able to secure a TPV at a discount if all the rooms are already listed as sold out? None?

I'll be good with a standard view, this will probably be a once in a life time Poly stay for us to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. But oh how I would love a TPV if we can swing it.

Thank you!!!

That weekend (Dec 7) is when the Christmas parade tapes, so rooms are probably booking up. Discounts are unlikely for the weekend. Unlike package discounts, room only discounts go night by night.

I have never stayed at Poly however I have been able to get ap discounts for club levels at WL,GF,BC,YC and BI. So special rooms at AP discounts are out there but limited. You just have to keep calling every couple of days. Once I was going to cancel at GF and change to 1 with AP and lo and behold they had a room, Club level with AP discount available. So once discount codes come out just keep calling!

We stayed at the Poly last December 8-12, Garden View, with a 30% AP discount (can't remember if that discount was availble for other room categories).

I say use the extra money you saved for a tour, carriage ride or cruise for the family!

We stayed in a garden view room in Fiji with a killer view of the marina. The sailboats were 10 feet from our patio. I also was going to upgrade us but am so glad I didn't. LOVE the Poly!!! Have fun!

Thanks everyone.

Yes, I've had my eye on Fiji for that marina view for a couple years now! That is what I'm requesting if I don't end up upgrading to TPV or to Club Level. I guess I'll just have to wait and see when the discounts come out.

I am considering a fireworks cruise to celebrate our anniversary!

I was aware of the Christmas Parade taping but didn't realize it was a draw for guests. I avoid it myself. ;)

Either way, I'm thrilled to be staying at the Poly. It's a dream come true for me!!!

We have been at that time, and the crowds were really low. Historically discounts have been really good for this time period. We had 35% off in 2011. The value resorts will be full because of pop warner and cheerleading, but it really does not effect the crowds that much.
