Hello to all experts! We have a 25th anniversary coming up and are considering a split stay at WDW and then doing the 3 night Wonder Cruise. Would LOVE to hear from anyone who has stayed at the Polynesian (we are usually All-Star people, but hey, if you can't go deluxe for the 25th, when can you!). Also, would LOVE to hear from anyone who has done the 3 day cruise. Did you feel the WDW stay was too short? (We have been to WDW lots of times before) Did you think the cruise was long enough? Is it okay for a couple traveling w/o children? When you book the package, what kind of room do you generally get at the Polynesian? Thanks in advance for any help!:)

Poly is our favorite resort for the money. Two years ago we did the 7 day Disney cruise and this was our first cruise ever, my wife and I are early 50's and belive me there was no bigger skeptic than me for a cruise and after 7 days, it wasn't enough but the islands they visit aren't that good, better to stay on the ship and relax while in port and induldge yourself in the shipboard ammenities and let the sooners go off and explore the islands. Its like native land, everyone has their hand out and its best to eat on the ship. We did the eastern cruise and St. Marten is nice from afar, took bus took, really nasty and not much to see, its an island and where the natives live is like the slums of home. St. Thomas is alittle nicer, best place is right in front of the ship in customs, thats about as far as I will go now, cabs, tours and whatnot all comes out of your pocket and everything on board is free.

Would love to hear more on the Polynesian Resort. What's good, what's bad, what's not to miss! Are they still doing renovation work there? How are the pools? Again, thanks in advance! :)

I have no bad thoughts on this resort and have stayed at the CR, WL,AKL, GF, YC, and BC. The Poly is probably our favorite with the Wilderness Lodge running close second. The atmosphere, music and people are second to none. Being a monorail resort says it all, and the view of the MK and nightly fireworks can't be beat from the wedding hill plus the nightly water show. The swimming pool with the volcano slide is small but I have never run into huge crowds that you couldn't enjoy a dip plus where the water enters the pool area via a stream, there are jets in the pool wall for a refreshing jacuzzi action on your back. Pool bar is great with their speciality drinks, O'hana resturant has a really fine meal nightly and the Kona coffee and tonga toast are for the big eaters in the family. At night, its all lit up with huge tiki torches and pathway lights and the quiet pool is usually very quiet, nice place for some wine and a good novel for the day away from the parks. Jump on the monorail, and you're in different themed resorts with the Grand and Contemporary. Never done conceirge at the Poly cause I feel there is enough right at your fingertips, why spend the extra for nothing.

Hope this helps some.
