Do they have connecting rooms for the DVC deluxe studio rooms at the Polynesian? Looking to book for my family including grandchildren, a connecting room would be nice to have. I think I remember seeing a door when you first enter the room but am not sure if that would be the entry way to a connecting room or not.

Many members have requested connecting rooms and have gotten them. So far no one has complained about not getting a connecting room at PVB here on the DisBoards.

IMO, we overdo the warnings for "no guarantee" when we talk about connecting rooms at the PVB.

I think getting a request for connecting rooms at the Poly is as close to a guarantee as you can get from a WDW resort. IIRC there are less than a handful of rooms (out of 360) that do NOT connect to another studio. We have not had any reports of a member properly making that request and NOT getting it at the Poly. Odds are very much in your favor.

I would guess it would be more difficult to get connecting rooms if you want a lake view as there are only 72 of them and three are HA rooms. However, all the Moorea studios connect to another studio. In the entire PVB resort only two rooms do not connect and they are in Tokelau on the first floor. They do not connect anymore as the rooms next door to them were converted to housekeeping space.

Was feeling good up to the note on the lake view room. As this will be the first stay at the poly for my daughter, son in law and my two granddaughters (2,3) I did book a like view. My wife and I stayed lake view a few years back and could not believe the view we had. It was such a special memory I wanted to share with my granddaughters. I will request top floor to try and get the best view we can of the castle and fireworks.

I made the request and if it happens that will be great, if not it's about the time we have there and making the most of it.

But odds are still in OP's flavor. All 72 Lake View studios connect to another Lake View studio. Just depends on rooms available when she checks in.

Agree. The one scenario that would bother me a little bit would be for a mid-week arrival. Since there aren't as many departures on Mon-Thurs, it will take advance planning for the resort to make sure side-by-side rooms will open up the same day.

For a Friday - Sunday arrival, I wouldn't give it a second thought. There's enough turnover that they should have no problem with the connecting rooms.

I think connecting and top floor is going to make it very difficult. I believe almost everyone request top floor.

Agree. Since OP booked Lake View, my advice is to choose either connecting or top floor. There are only 27 LV studios on top floor and that number will be further reduced by those who are already in those rooms & not checking out when his party arrives.

There are actually only 24 Lake View villas on each floor at Moorea, including the top floor, for a total of 72 Lake View villas at PVB. The top floor room numbers are 3015 to 3038.

Also, three of the 72 Lake View villas are handicap accessible. There is one HA Lake View villa on each floor. They are villas 1024, 2024, and 3024.

And at least one of the LV studios is being used by sales - and there are still cash reservations for them. DVC makes use of at least 2 standard view studios in Moorea too based on the signage on the doors.

We are hoping to book 2 first floor connecting rooms in Raratonga next summer. Does anyone know if Raratonga has any connecting rooms?

Rarotonga is not a DVC longhouse, so if you're booking DVC, wanting Rarotonga is a problem.

We are not DVC members. We stayed at Raratonga last summer and loved it. Our daughter’s room was across the hall from ours which worked out really well. Next time we would like connecting rooms. We would probably keep the adjoining door open except for at night when my husband snores.

I just realized that this thread is DVC. Probably not the best place to ask this question.

:) If you haven't already posted your question on the Resorts Board, that's the place to get your answer.

Requested connecting room at Poly in 2018 and it was granted. My daughter and husband had one room and we had the other. They have 2 kids, so each wanted one of the Pull down bed (Murphy Bed). I believe they enjoyed those beds more than any other rooms we have stayed in over the years. And of course running back and forth between the 2 rooms was another hit for them.

I agree that getting two rooms that connect for your family will be pretty easy. I think the reason they won't guarantee is so that if something does happen, they have that to fall back on, but I also think the fact that they are the only connecting studios in the DVC resorts, they know it will be a popular option. I would just suggest that you have them note on your reservation, in addition to the connecting request, that you are traveling together...they can note each reservation number on the other.

Coming late to the party but this seems like a good place to get an answer to a question that our travel agent doesn't know. About those connecting rooms--we are two adults on a split stay...after sending the six kids and grandson home from Coronado Springs, we'd like quiet and actually don't want an inside connecting door--our experience in other hotels is that there's less soundproofing so voices and the TV come through far more easily. We are not DVC and have never visited the Poly, but our TA thinks we'd love a "Deluxe Studio/Standard View" room. I was on board until I read about the doors. I'd appreciate opinions on sound transmission through the connecting door, as from what I've been reading here, it sounds like the odds are good that we would wind up in a room with one. Thanks for any guidance!
