I'm confused. If I booked Poly concierge, lagoon view for September what are my longhouse choices-I thought it was Hawaii? What rooms are being refurbished and when will they be done. I've never stayed here and would love some opinions.

Don't worry, mom_rules

My DW and I booked Polynesian LV Concierge for Oct 1-8 and have no worries at all about being in Tahiti. It is a little closer to the TTC and a little farther from the GCH (and by little, I mean a minute or two) but has a more private beach and (slightly) bigger rooms.
I have heard nothing but good things about the Polynesian Concierge staff and have no doubt that they'll keep that level at Tahiti. Plus, the move is from June to mid-October - over four months - so it's not like they're going to be using card tables and milk crates for a short, temporary switch. :)

And please check out Tikiman's site (address in his post, above) and forum for some very helpful - and timely - information.

You'll have a great time at Tahiti,
Erick

Thanks. What can you tell me about Concierge at the Poly and the Poly in general (I've been to Tikiman's site-he's excellent)?
If you had the choice-would you choose Poly over GF?

Rather than book a concierge garden this year, we opted for a standard lagoon view (non-conciege) and lucked out and got one (for 11 nights). Any idea what buildings the non-concierge lagoon view rooms are located in?

It depends on when you will be there. If you are going before October when the conceirge is in Tahiti the only standard lagoon view rooms will be in Aotearoa (only certain rooms) Tuvalu (no beach in front of the lagoon view rooms) and the 2 rooms in Tokelau that are considered lagoon view and do not face the lagoon.

Tahiti is the best lagoon view for standard when it is not the temp concierge. I have stayed in LV rooms in Tahiti, Tuvalu and Hawaii and Tuvalu was my least favorite location out of the three.

Aloha

Steve

mom-rules, my family votes for the Polynesian over the GF except at Christmas. Love them both but love the Polynesian so much more!:D

Tikiman,

Thanks for the input. I'm considering forking over some more cash to bump all the way to concierge lagoon (We'll be there Aug27-Sep7). For all the money we are paying, I really want a nice view and would hate to get a crappy one. We stayed concierge garden last year and decided to splurge this year for our 5th wedding anniversary.
