We will be splitting a stay between an Epcot resort and a MK resort. Will only be at the MK resort for two nights. Normally we have always stayed in the Hawaii building at the Poly whenever we stay in a MK area resort. However, we now have 4 children, with the youngest just turning one.

I have been weighing the pros and cons of staying at either one and am torn. We love the Poly. The older kids love the concierge lounge. The convenience of the monorail can't be beat. I keep thinking of how convenient it will be to take our youngest daughter back to the room for a nap in the afternoon for a nap from the MK to the Poly. While I know that the room is 1/3 the size of a 2 bedroom villa at the WL, we will have the concierge lounge to hang out in while the youngest ones take naps. And it is only a 2 night stay, so how much time will we be in the room anyway.

With that being said, I know first hand what a beautiful resort the WL is. And we have stayed in the 2 bedroom villas at the BW and BC, and the thought of all that room with 4 kids sounds heavenly. Also the full kitchen with a refrigerator would be great for the kids.

However, we know we will be making 1-3 trips a day back to the hotel from the MK for naps, and the boat just doesn't seem as convenient to me as the monorail Especially in the hot August sun. Can anyone give me some insight into the boat transportation back and forth between the WL and the MK? For the 2 days we are there, we will only be going to the MK.

Has anyone stayed at both, and if so can you offer me your opinions on the transportation back and forth between the two?

Thanks for all advice/opinions.

I find the boat to be as easy, or easier, than the monorail. For one thing, when it's hot, I hate having to climb that steep hill to the monorail station. Second, people seem to give you a little more space at the boat dock, so you're not in a huge crowd of people. Of course, there is also boat transport to Poly, if you wanted to use it, but those boats don't allow strollers like the bigger WL/FL boats do.

If it were me, I would go for more space. It seems like you can never have too much space when you're on vacation.

From what you described, I would also choose to stay at the WLV in a 2 bedroom. Yes, you may get a lounge and food every so often at the Poly, however, IMHO, that is incomparable to the amount of private space you will have in a 2 bedroom. And yes, especially with kids it's nice to have a full kitchen with a fridge.
